Eh... Baldwin was not innocent to be sure, he did his share to drive the Pens into the ground before Mario saved them.... again. But I put a good portion of it on the whole "Baseball on Ice" scenario that the NHL had developed with a handful of teams having the money to spend to buy whatever player they wanted, while the rest of the teams scrounged the garbage bins. The whole lockout solved that problem, thankfully.

Craig Patrick was considered a genius GM most of his career... toward the end he was basically forced into giving away talent for nothing due to financials... Jagr, Kovalev, Francis, the list is huge. Not really his fault. His trades of bringing in Francis, Ulf Samuelsson, and Grant Jennings as well as Tocchet and others are considered collosal in helping the team win the back to back Cups. As for Naslund... he was underachieving in the Pens system. With all the mega-star talent he had, there just wasnt room for him to play on the top 2 lines... it was a shame, but it's also why he blossomed when he left. On the flip side, Craig had a lot of bad draft from the mid 90's on... Milan Kraft, Robert Dome, Craig Hiller, Chris Wells, Stephan Berqvist, and a bunch of other 1st rounders that never ever became anything. The Jagr/Naslund/Straka draft pick run was fantastic though!

I wear my 93 Jagr white authentic to games sometimes... I always hear some jerk Pens fan explainign to his friend or whoever he is with that he doesn't understand why people would weaer the jersey of a guy who 'did that to the Penguins' Uh... did what? Help win 2 cups, win a bucket full of scoring championships, become the best player in the league whent he best player in the league (Mario) retired? Score some of the prettiest goals in NHL history? I hate people like that. It'd be different if it were a situation like, I duinno... Jay Cutler or something....at least there is a reason to have some bad feelings there... but sheez......

I am a big fan of both guys too... Talbot is just a spark plug, gotta love him, and Gonchar, to be honest, might be the secret MVP of the team. Think about the turn around that happened when he came back this season! That said, I recently bought a jersey myself and went with Crosby white authentic with the Finals patch (posted earlier in the "It arrived today" thread), just because I know he'll be there long term. It looks like you might want a 'different' jersey, since a billion people have Crosby and Geno? If that's the case, AND you want a jersey of someone that'll be around a while (probably), maybe consider a Brooks Orpik jersey. They are pretty rare, AND he is signed to a long term deal (assuming they don't trade him)

I think it's nice looking, and I much perfer it to the red circle logo jersey they wore last season, but when I see this new jersey/uniform, the first thing that came to mind was "college team"...

Thanks for that closeup! I am attatching a closeup of what I received as a comparison... you can see the differences. Frankly, I think what I received looks nicer.... but obviously does not exactly match what was worn on the ice, at least for the Finals this year...

OK, then I will assume it is a 1.0, sounds like I was confused on the actual differences... I don't want to spread any false information. I'm very happy with the jersey. My only complain is that the font looks to be slightly different on the nameplate... most noticebly on the "S" in Crosby, but also in the "Y" and possbily others if you compare it to pcitures from Game 7 on the Finals. I have tried to look up other game photos , and it does look like perhaps the font used on my jersey matches better to some other jerseys he has worn in the past. I am amazed that there seems to be so much variation in actual on-ice product as far as fonts go from one game/time-frame to the next. The other minor complaint is that the Stanley Cup patch seems to be attached closer to the Penguins crest than what is shown in those same game 7 Finals pictures, but it looks as though they tried to line-up the Finals patch with the Captains C for a cleaner look, as the Game 7 pictures show the Finals patch up higher on the shoulder. Again, these differences are minor to me, and not worth trying to have 'corrected', but just figured I'd point them out as a topic for discussion.

Thanks for the welcome! Well, perhaps I am misunderstanding the 1.0 vs 2.0, but from what I've read, I assumed it was a 2.0. This is my first Edge jersey, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it appears that the jersey has two different types of material... the shoulder area (white) is a smooth fabric with a very fine 'dimpling' to it... the gold on the sleeves is also this material. The rest of the jersey has a bigger 'dimpling' to it... The gold in the armpits seems to be yet another material... with actual airholes in it. My camera is at home, but perhaps I could take better closeups. Now, maybe I am mistaken.... does the Edge 1.0 jerseys have different fabric textures on different panels?

Hi All, I've been been lurking for several months now, but this is my first post. I am a long time Penguins fan... my first jersey was a 1993 Authentic CCM Jagr home jersey with the 100th anniversary Cup patch. Been waiting about 9 weeks for this to arrive. Ordered from IceJersey's: Authentic Crosby Edge jersey... if I am understanding the differences between a 1.0 and 2.0 jersey, it appears I received a 2.0, FWIW.... I wanted the jersey that Sid was wearing when he lifted the Cup! So here it is. I also have a few other jerseys.... I'll try to snap a few pictures to post. Go Pens!
