  1. I didn't see anyone else mention it, but the letters are placed the wrong way on the arch too. They're supposed to follow the arch but stay straight up like this: Just wanted to make sure you got it spot on when you fixed it...From one Wildwing owner to another!
  2. You can also tell it's the same customizer for this season not only because of the stacked twill, but because the font they use for the captain "C" and the alternate "A" is WRONG WRONG WRONG! Even though now that it's game worn, it's technically right.... Still bugs the heck outta me.
  3. To me anyway, the one you're buying from a board member seems just fine numbers wise. Yes the sizing/placement of the back numbers looks a little bit different, but that could be due to the jersey size? If it were me, I'd replace the nameplate because it's easy enough (and the letters don't look as tall as the gamer) and call it a day. No need to go crazy!
  4. No this isn't some crazy ethical question, but as a stickler for the proper customization when it comes to my beloved Ducks jerseys this really made me wonder. Now for the last few years, we know that Monkeysports has been doing the on ice customization for the Anaheim Ducks. Sublistitch before them, and the first were Cutting Edge sports in 06-07 when they overhauled their logo & fonts etc. We know that these guys are the only ones who can get the font spot on, especially when it comes to the alternate captain's "A" and the captain's "C" . Enter exhibit A: Teemu Selanne and Ryan Getzlaf at the beginning of the season, resplendent in their respective "A" and "C" Now, later on in the season, exhibit B: Interesting, no? It has me convinced that they aren't using Monkeysports any more (there's another telltale sign with where the namebar is positioned too), and that whoever they are using, is using the wrong font. But that's what makes this interesting for me, is that now that it has been worn on ice, does that make it wrong any more? Has this even happened with a different team at another point in time? Just something I noticed and thought I'd throw out there, seems like it could make for good discussion!
  5. Could also be because of who bought them. Myself, I think having a game worn jersey signed by the guy that wore it would be sweet (provided it's signed on one of the back numbers only!), and I know there are other people out there that think that too. That being said, this forum has shown me that some of the more serious collectors prefer leaving them exactly as they are, and that doing anything to them takes away from the value. The more casual collectors I'm guessing might just like the former, but then they aren't the guys buying the majority of the game worn jerseys. Just a thought. Oh and those half and half jerseys are AWESOME. I got a Mighty Ducks one for Christmas the year they first came out and despite some ice cream stains it's still a prized possession.
  6. Figures that you got killed on the game worn with the ENTIRE teams autographs. The value would only really stick if it only had the player who wore it's autograph. Everyone else's devalues it because they didn't wear it. Team signed jerseys should be blank, and signed on the front only.
  7. Blee thank you so much for posting up a picture/measurements for the "A". No one but Monkeysports (or previous team customizers) can do the A properly, so this might help them out. Every other place the A is slanted on both sides, when the right should be straight. This has been bugging me for a long time, as I want to make a 2007 Stanley Cup finals game 4 Selanne jersey, and I want it to be %100. Now if only Hockeymonkey would tell me who supplies them with Ducks kits, so I can get a loose one sent to me!
  8. Don't know if this would help but I'm in Vancouver, and just across the border there are places that let you use their address as if it was yours, and they only charge you a couple bucks to pick up your stuff. It's really helped me with shipping costs and getting things from the US! I don't know if you have anything close like that to where you are?
  9. Hey fella's Anyone know who Hockey Monkey gets their kits from? I want to have a couple of my Ducks jerseys stitched up but to ship it there and back really adds up. I've emailed them a couple times and no reply, and I was able to chat online with one of their service reps. He told me I can't order kits from them, and that they order the kits from somewhere else. I asked him who, and he had no idea (ARGH). I'd get it done locally but NO ONE can do the alternate captain's "A" properly except Hockey Monkey. Any ideas?
  10. Jersey frames! These displays are much more affordable... A buddy of mine has a couple and he really likes them!
  11. So I guess the next question is...Where can we buy just namebars? Airknit , EDGE etc ? Don does great work (and he's in Canada like me!) so I'd hate to not have him as an option now, argh!
  12. I appreciate the offer but I'll save you a trip, I'm going to grab the ones from SportsK. I was looking for official NHL ones, and that's what they have! Thanks for the help guys!
  13. Hey guys, anywhere I can get a couple LEGIT 2007 Stanley Cup Finals patches? I've tried Ebay but the sellers of the official ones won't ship to Canada.
  14. True, that all depends on the player. I've been pretty luck and gotten some really nice signatures, and I've witnessed the hounds getting some real crap ones (they deserve those though!). Some guys will take their time if you're nice, some won't. If they're in a rush, don't go after them because you'll get a crappy autograph. Also, some players give completely different signatures in person than they do at a signing. Marty Brodeur for example, will give out an "MT" in person, but at a signing you get his whole "MTBR 30" . I'm not a picky guy so it's not a huge deal to me!
  15. Places like AJ Authentics and Frozen Pond have in person signings at their respective locations, but you're also able to send in something (jerseys/pucks/mcfarlane bases etc etc) you want signed. Prices vary for who and for what, so you should check out their websites. As for paying for autographs...Yes the prices can be ludicrous at times, but if it's worth it to you, who cares what you spend? Another thing to factor in is that some players just won't sign autographs before or after road games/practices or at the airport. If that's the case, then you have to rely on these signings. I don't necessarily blame the players either, because of all the jerk autograph hounds in every city who harass these guys for autographs and then turn around and sell them. If I was a player I'd be choked some loser living in his mom's basement is making a buck off of me and I wasn't! Yes I wait around the same places as these guys, but it's not my job, I don't sell any of them, and I only ever ask (politely) for one autograph. If a player declines it sucks, but that's his prerogative. I know you jersey collectors can be a picky bunch, but I don't see how a players signature (especially if the jersey is stitched with his name and number) can hurt the value of it. I figure it should only increase it, because it's *the* guy's signature on his jersey. Plus having it on a number on the back looks awesome, especially for displaying!
