So, a couple weeks ago, I scored a Toronto/Mississauga St. Michaels Majors Justin Donati Game-Worn jersey off of Ebay. It was previously owned by a Majors season ticket holder, who bought it from the team after the 2005-06 season. Shortly after receiving it, I noticed that the OHL logo patch had apparently been sewn over the top of another patch on the shoulder. After looking carefully, it looks as if there was an OHL logo patch that was sewn upside-down on the jersey and then the patch sewn over it is the one that is sewn rightside-up. EVERYTHING else on this jersey looks to be authentic as far as wear, stick marks, board burns, etc. Is the patch cover-up just one of those weird things that sometimes happens in the world of junior hockey or should I worry about the jersey's authenticity?

You might just want to keep trying Ebay.

I would just contact McGill's athletic department directly and see if they can help you out. Who knows, you might be able to score an old gamer.

I guess, for me, it's like this: I can pay $114.99 (plus shipping in some cases) for a replica jersey. I can pay $300 (plus shipping in some cases) for an authentic jersey. OR I can pay $85 (which I have multiple times) for a jersey that was actually WORN in a game by that player and has seen live hockey action night after night that sets it apart from my neighbor guy or the guy who sits next to me at the local team's games being able to just make a 10 minute trip to the mall, and as long as he's willing to pay the same amount, get the same exact replica or authentic jersey that I have. It's like the time that I met Mandy Moore a few years ago. I had always seen her on TV and on magazine covers in the checkout line at the supermarket and thought "man, she's hot!". But 3 years ago, when she sat right next me behind home plate at a Los Angeles Dodgers game, that was the real deal. I mean, it wasn't a magazine cover or an image on the TV anymore. It was her, in the flesh. And it doesn't get more real than that.

$325 on a Game-Worn AND autographed 1996-97 IHL Eastern Conference All-Star Jersey of Michel Picard. I regret it slightly, because I could have gotten a Game-Worn Jiri Hudler Grand Rapids Griffins one for the same price or I could an even better gamer for that price these days. However, I do love the Picard jersey.
