  1. Luckily being a Flyers fan, I'm glad to say that they haven't drifted too far away from the classic look to where its a completely different logo and color scheme like many, many teams are guilty of. But with that said, the alternates they wore from (I think) 02-07 or 08 with the 3d flying P is one of the ugliest jerseys of all-time from any sport. I HATE the logo design, and every time I come across somebody wearing it (or even seeing a pic online), I cringe. Whoever ok'd that abomination deserves to be strapped to a chair with their eyes pryed open while the 97 Stanley Cup Finals plays on repeat. But hey, thats just me.
  2. Ahh fine choice indeed. Dont get to see Getz very much since the Flyers only play the Ducks twice a year (and that game about a month ago in your barn was tough to watch. You guys smacked us lol), but I am a fan of his. Great well-rounded player. I was also happy to see you guys pick up Hagelin in the off-season since I couldnt stand him on the Rags. But of course, now you guys traded him to the Pens and we're stuck with him in the East again lol.
  3. I'm sort of looking at this as getting your first tattoo. You take a lot of time figuring out what you want, get it done, and then come back for more and more. So far, I've only got 2 jerseys and both are premieres. But Im ready to take the next step and start getting the real stuff. What jersey did you pop your cherry with?
  4. Thank you, but he and I spoke already and its sadly not the one I want. I want the Dodgers Stadium one from 2 years ago, and the one he has in that link is from the San Fran game against the Sharks from last year. Appreciate you going out of your way to get that link for me though!
  5. It's so bad, it's hilarious. Kind of like a cheesy 80s horror flick lol. I actually had to send him a msg and call him out on it. Dude swears up and down it's legit. He probably bought it from somebody who told him it was real, and he believes it lol. Breaks my heart too because I want a Kings 2014 SS soooooo badly.
  6. I agree, it came off as plain jane and uninspired when they debuted them, but now I've grown to love them. Less is more sort of thing, considering how busy looking the black and purple ones were.
  7. Thank you. Didn't know those were Reeboks during his time there. I associate Reeboks with the shield in the neck area. Learn something new every day, right? Since obviously you're a Kings fan, how do you feel about those jerseys? Does the LA at the bottom annoy you too?
  8. Whether you love or hate him, J. Roenick was a rarity among NHLers. He shoots from the hip, refuses to give the standard hockey player "canned wooden response" to questions from the media (NHLers are the WORSE when it comes to that), and he isn't afraid to tell Mike Milbury about himself, which anybody can admire. I was doing an image search on Google a few nights ago after I found a thread on here about a Roenick Hawks sweater from the early 90s with the red and black stripes and old-school logo (you know which one), and I found this pic: http://roenicklife.com/career-highlights/los-angeles-kings-2005-2006/ Of all the pics I've seen of his time on the Kings, I never saw him don a Reebok on the ice. Was this sweater a promo sweater that he wore for photo sessions and whatnot? This design of the Kings home jerseys was always a bad mothersucker in my opinion, but I HATE HATE HATE the fact they just had to add "Los Angeles" at the bottom of the front, as if fans didn't already know which team it was. Really looks tacky and it takes a lot away from the jersey if you ask me. Does anybody have any info on this? And most importantly, how rare is it among collectors? Not really looking to buy one, just very curious. Oh and one more thing, thanks again for making me feel comfortable on here with all of the questions I had about the world of authentic-collecting in my last thread. Means a lot.
  9. Man, I had no idea how much of a labor of love and patience it is to track the materials down and put it all together to create your own Picasso for jerseys. And honestly, Pelle was really just an example I used to see what it would take to get the things needed to make one. I'm not worthy enough to don a Lindberg anyway lol. That era was way before my time, and to wear the shirt of a player of his stature should only be reserved for the most elite of Flyers fan. Here's another question: what's the community's stance on putting an older player's name and numbers on a current jersey? I mentioned earlier that a Propp 2.0 would be super cool. Is that frowned upon? Like in other words, do people think that Propp and his era of playing should only be on that era's type of jersey?
  10. So in other words, creating a Pelle is pretty much a pipe dream huh? And just out of sheer curiosity, what do the older than vintage sweaters go for? Like, what if I decided to do a Moose DuPont from 74? Astronomical, right?
  11. Wow, thank you everyone! I really appreciate the insight, especially about having doubts about buying the fake and hating it later on. That hits close to home and makes so much sense. As for what Flyers jersey I'd like, I'm truthfully undecided. I think a Brian Propp 2.0 would be pretty killer, not unlike the sweaters the older players wore at the alumni game back in 2012 (those were 2.0's right?). So I'm almost positive that would have to be customized since he wasn't there. A Lindbergh one would be pretty epic too. I dont know, lots of players to choose from haha
  12. I've certainly considered it. And its tax season as well, so you know what means...haha. But to be totally truthful with you, there's a few things I need to get first in my life before an authentic jersey, even though I'm positive Id be happy that i bought one (PS4, deposit on an apartment, other grown-up stuff lol). But with that said, I know I'll be more than ready to know what to buy if I hang around here. I mean, the stuff I've learned on here so far is crazy. I mean, not to sound ignorant but I simply never knew how very important patches are, and customization is a must. Hell, I didnt even know that teams send their sweaters out to get customized. I thought they came from Reebok ready to go lol. But hey, the more you know..
