  1. Stole my thunder here. The reason I'm close to no longer seeking authentic jerseys for customization is that I'm finding customizers aren't making the same efforts they used to even when I send clear instructions for things like nameplate material. Tags on the inside though? If I wear one of my jerseys to the pub, who sees those? That's my opinion anyway.
  2. I've seen a few searching eBay for Adidas goalie cuts.. though I'm not sure the Canucks will have any themselves as both their goaltenders wear 58G. Just trying to see if my common sense is working right, where I can pull off a regular cut 56, but go for a 58 for that little bit of width a 58 gets me, a 56G would work too.
  3. One of these days I hope to get a goalie cut Adidas Canucks jersey for my collection. For regular Adidas jerseys, I wear Size 58. Would it make sense to go with 58G or would I be good in a 56G? Does anyone have measurements of the goalie sizes?
  4. ACE uses flo-knit on Jets Adidas game jerseys and a quick search for Jets gamers shows me they did on Edge 2.0 jerseys as well.
  5. The front and arms of the Edge 2.0 is simply airknit material. The back of the Edge 2.0 however, is a stretch mesh that was also on Edge 1.0 jerseys. I forget the actual name for it, but when sending jerseys for customization, I simply request an "Edge material nameplate".
  6. First of all, since the jersey was already recycled by the team, there should be no issue with your plans with the jersey. As the training camp tagging is a stamp and not an easily removable label, I wouldn't worry about it. I honestly wouldn't worry about documenting anything either unless you plan to sell the jersey down the road, in which case potential buyers should be made aware of the jersey's history.
  7. The Canucks wore 4 sets, one for each home game last week, and will not wear them again. Players get to keep one set, the first set has obviously been auctioned off already and the other two sets will be auctioned off as well. The info I got from the Canucks store was the next two auctions will take place "towards the end of the season".
  8. For the first, and likely only time, I was able to participate in a Canucks game worn auction. It was like being in a high rollers room, but I had to for this set! I think they could have been a bit less lazy on the back number cowboy cut stitching, but what can you do. Still a gorgeous jersey!
  9. Knowing the retail industry, that seems likely that they needed more stock than they originally had made in Indonesia, thus they did a one-time production run in the Canadian factory. They can make that happen in a matter of a week or two from Canada in a bind as opposed to a few months at the fastest from Asia.
  10. It's more likely making jersey materials from recycled materials. Nike did a similar thing with their soccer jerseys in 2010 and might still be doing it. I'm getting up there, but still in my 30s. What I'm getting sick of is how so many people today are making a political issue out of EVERYTHING.
  11. The pic I saw that sparked my curiosity was an Oilers MIC at a TJ Maxx for $16.99. I can see Canadian discount stores not seeing any US teams' jerseys, but I would expect Canadian teams' jerseys would find their way into Winners up here instead of being sent south of the border. Either that or I'm completely wrong about how the MICs are getting into American discount stores.
  12. I'm a bit confused after reading this and Reddit. Are they changing the materials for on-ice MIC jerseys as well or just Indo replicas? There seems to be a lot of MICs popping up at discount stores in the US lately. If only the teams get MICs, how are these being dumped seemingly en masse down there and why?
  13. The card collecting groups are even worse. Everyone is a keyboard warrior these days.

    Measurements Help

Kiss cut. I'm still debating 12" vs 12.5" ... but at least this time I'll get what I ask for and have no reason to be mad lol.
  15. I sent a jersey to Keener needing the extra cost to make the font. Got the invoice at the same speed as mentioned above and only a few days later, I got pics of the kit that was cut. I sent back what wasn't quite right last Friday, so hopefully I will hear back soon to see the corrections I assume they are in the process of making.
  16. Crosby better have paid for those flights the guy took just to tailor his jersey.
  17. Some yes, some no and most of the yes, EPS' prices make my decision, even when factoring in shipping costs.
  18. Shipping to the US isn't what I'm worried about, it's the wait at the border after USPS gets it to Canada. CBSA controls that. The last 3 packages I've had come from the US to Canada (dating back to last summer) via USPS have sat at the Canadian border for 6-8 weeks before being handed off to Canada Post by CBSA. Has this gotten any better for anyone in the last month or two? I am leaning towards sending my jerseys to EPS, but I can't hide my nerves with how long packages have been taking to cross the border unless shipped to Canada via Purolator, DHL or UPS. Also, I've been charged customs fees on EPS return packages before. I asked them on a future box of jerseys to declare a low value to avoid it and they refused.
  19. It's not Canada Post I'm worried about, it's the wait at the border after USPS gets it to Canada. CBSA controls that.
  20. Has anyone in Canada used EPS recently? I could have a box ready in the morning for them, but with the time it's taking for packages on the way back to get from USPS, through CBSA then to Canada Post... thus giving me a desire to use Purolator or UPS, which is probably going to kill my wallet... I'm wondering if it's a better idea to order loose kits and send them to someone north of the border to have the sewing done. Thoughts?

    Measurements Help

Just an FYI to tie off this thread, I finally got a response from someone with a game worn Capitals jersey (albeit from a few years later and a goalie jersey). Back numbers are 12.5" and nameplate letters are 4". Given that my jersey is considerably smaller than a big goalie jersey, with the bigger name pushing numbers down, I think 12" numbers for my Size 52 will be a good route to take.
  22. Any advice on how to get this residue out? I've gone three rounds of VLR and one round of acetone. Tried the handheld steamer, which did absolutely nothing. I'm getting worried that any more chemicals will take some of the blue out of the jersey . A new kit will cover some, but not all. The spot on the fight strap is especially stubborn.

    Measurements Help

Being bored on a Saturday, I tested the theory... I took the name and back numbers off the jersey (I was always going to get this changed, no fault attributed to anyone) and moved the numbers down. They're not placed perfectly in the pic, but it does make some sense (though I still wonder if game jerseys in 97-98 had 11.5" or 12" numbers). It seems clear that if the name was the correct larger size, the numbers would have had to be placed further down. I'm thinking the name letters could have been as tall as 4"... still need to know for sure before getting the back of the jersey re-done.

    Measurements Help

Could be, though looking for photos online, it seems that the Capitals went to smaller name and numbers in the early 2000s? The sizes on the blue jersey are 11.5" numbers and 3 & 3/8" letters on the name. I can't seem to find anyone with any info on what the Capitals used for sizes in 97/98 (this jersey has the Finals patch).
