  1. eBay version 4.0

LOL. Was half expecting "Patrik" to have been spelled "Patrick" on the Devils tags.
  2. eBay version 4.0

Won the Elias Night Michael Grabner. Photo matched it and have a great shot of the MeiGray tag to boot. Judging from the craziness of the prices i'm just happy to get one without putting out a mortgage payment and fortunate to have a jersey from each retirement night.
  3. It is good or not?

I agree 100%. The sharing of information is becoming nearly extinct in the game worn hobby.
  4. It is good or not?

What was posted is pretty much a reflection of what has been discussed regarding the Burke jersey for a number of years in the Devils community (and game worn community) as far back as 10 years ago (this jersey has been around). Instead, i added that through a source i contacted various photographers that worked visiting arenas in that time period and they found nothing matching the jersey (i'd have paid them for a match so i know each one was motivated to look). We also have more then enough photos of Burke in our archives from our recent bulk buys of Devils vintage slides and negatives, magazine/program material, and other sources and nothing doing there, either. If you want me to repeat, confirm or add on to what has been said already, then the piling on the hem looks out of place as Burke didn't tuck his jersey and even if it rode up it would be on both sides or around the hem in more spots, the lack of puck/stick marks scattered on the jersey overall and the crooked crest is just too far off that even the Devils in their recycling/use it up prime wouldn't have let in a game. Could anything have happened where this was worn? Sure, but given the visual evidence and the fact that it's not sitting in someone's (including our) collection long ago and the amount of times the buck has been passed lends me enough credence to conclude this was never worn in an NHL game.

No love, huh? It's ok. Just kidding lol! I know you don't me or my family well other then your deals with me (We've been collecting Devils game worn jerseys and equipment for 15 years). Hopefully you'll come to the MeiGray Expo this year and see our display along with the others :-)
  6. *Dumb Question Alert* Re: Facebook Groups

He's the same guy who tried to tell people he doesn't believe in photo matching as provenance and doesn't use it for authentication. He prefers the source it came from instead. Asinine.
  7. It is good or not?

For some reason we have more photos of Sean Burke as a Devil then we can explain why lol. We've also talked with some NHL photographers from visiting cities from that era who looked in their private albums and none of them had anything. Saying that and knowing what we know about Devils game worn jerseys in general, that jersey was never worn in an NHL game. Yes, you should always keep an open mind and you never know when dealing with that era, but the jersey shows too many red flags in general. The "provenance" behind it is kinda odd, though, as you'd think someone wouldn't just use the name of an NHL exec few people might be familiar with, but people will do things to make a dollar or pass the buck.

This was their reasoning: "More Than Just Caps Clubhouse will continue to produce custom apparel, Pro Stitch Hockey jerseys, full service team orders and custom embroidery. As a smaller operation we have found the Jersey market no longer needs us and as such we are liquidating the inventory. We will still take orders and get you products you need but our primary focus will be on our custom brand apparel and caps unique to us. We are leaders and the best in Jersey customization and will continue to offer this service. We thank you for your support in our business model transition and hope you enjoy the big discounts we are passing on in the process! "

They give a bit of an explanation on their facebook page today under the post "Final Inventory Clearance".

Yeah, i think the team trying to tie in that story only served to annoy people more. It was like they were trying to sell you something that really isn't there that no one on the planet other then the team would ever have related it to.

Yes. They wanted to have a uniform that honors the heritage of the franchise's past and move progressively forward with some performance design or something like that. The Devils press release explained they borrowed elements from the Bulldogs, Scouts and Rockies, but it's a guarantee no one said "i see the Bulldogs, Scouts and Rockies in the uniform design!" until the Devils press release told them. 99% of Devils fans probably never heard of the Newark Bulldogs even though they passed by a jersey hanging inside the arena.

One banner fixed, one to go. Progress!
  14. The Patch Thread 2.0

The Prudential Center Inaugural Season patch/logo was originally produced for Devils STH and the leftovers were put in the Devils Den store where they were just stacked by a register and you had to ask about them. They were eventually sold at the 2009 Draft Day sale for $1 apiece. Looking back those would have made a pretty solid investment as the last one we had privately sold for $25. The same Inaugural Season logo was sold on one item of apparel by the Devils, a black New Era cap. That logo was embroidered, not a patch (so in case anyone finds one thinking they can remove it)
