  1. Once a Sioux, always a Sioux. Buy moar cawlidge hawkey jerseys. In other words...no issues here.
  2. Yeah, definitely more than 10 people. Chicago is a big place with a lot of big-wigs and collectors aren't excluded to Chicago-only, they encompass the globe.
  3. I love those old sweaters like that. Nothing can replace them. I'd say the value is pretty good at that $7000-10,000 mark, but who knows, Blackhawks gamer collectors can be tad out there. Not to thread jack, but since most of you probably don't visit the college forum here, I thought I'd link my new pickup here that you guys may enjoy peeking at if you like old sweaters: http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=4652&p=156943
  4. The new crown jewel in my collection...a 1958-59 (and likely '59-60) game-worn Sioux jersey. This jersey was worn in UND's first national championship victory over Michigan State and assisted on UND's 2nd goal of the game by Bernie Haley in the second period.
  5. To finish the story... I forgot I let REA borrow the jersey for their display until they found a permanent replacement. I have five other jerseys currently in the display as well until the rest show up. They've been in there since summer time and I didn't think I let them borrow that one. The idea I did this was one of the first things I hypothesized, but at no point could I think of a reason I let them borrow it. That was, until I remembered a video tour of the new renovations that have taken place in 2014 to the arena, which includes the addition of the historic jersey hall that I had a lead role in helping create. I thought I'd look at it to see if it, in fact, was there. And sure enough, there it was. Here's a picture of part of the hall (there are numerous duplicates because the jersey portion hasn't been completed yet). I also linked the vid. The jersey in question is the fourth one (from nearest to farthest) on the left. http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/video-renovated-und-hockey-team-area-includes-new-locker-room-and-more
  6. I think I found it....
  7. She knows better. This might sound mean, but she's gotten in trouble with me for moving my jerseys a few feet.
  8. Seriously. Freaking. Out. Lost an authentic 2005-06 Sioux Ryan Duncan jersey...white...Nike. Was my first authentic Sioux jersey (originally a Derrick LaPoint). Gone. Missing. Lost. Stolen? Alzheimers? Tore apart my house. Wife told me I have too many jerseys. Maybe she's right, for once.
  9. Notre Dame Gold: Sioux Green: North Dakota Green:
  10. It's an ok little town. If you like hockey, Sioux hockey is as fun as anything I've ever been to as far as pro or collegiate sports, so it helps the winters pass. Speaking of winter, it sucks. A lot. I grew up in Wisconsin, so I thought I had winters down pat pretty good. Grand Forks is a whole 'nother level of winter. The downtown scene is ok, if that's your thing. Plenty of bars. All-in-all it's just an average blue collar town with not a ton of things to do, but it grows on you. UND makes Grand Forks, so it's got a nice college atmosphere to it. North Dakota is a great state to live. It's not like other parts of the country. Economically it's self-sufficient, tons of jobs, great place to raise a family. You just have to let the place grow on you.
  11. Is it my collection now? Nope, I wish. Will it be my collection? Hopefully! In reality, that guy has put so much money into his collection I can't even fathom. The crazy part is, he's going to turn a profit on just about everything. You will see some ridiculous prices in that auction...beyond most NHL pieces.
  12. This is the best ad on a hockey jersey right now has to be this...the double sports logo.
  13. Some sure do come special... Anyways, the rules to selling player merchandise apply only to current athletes. Union and whomever is involved is just stupid and doesn't know the rules...or they know the rules and just don't want you to have the jerseys for whatever dumb reasons they've conjured up.
  14. This is just my opinion and I'm not bashing anyone who differs (and be warned, I am going to come across as harsh). But, I just fail to see the point of an autograph in any way, shape, or form. To me, autographs are just about the dumbest things one could collect of an athlete or celebrity...ESPECIALLY if you weren't even the one who acquired it. If I happen to run into someone at least reasonably famous, at most I ask for a picture (depending on the situation). Some of the time I'll politely say hi, the rest of the time I just leave them alone. Sorry for my crazy side of the argument.
  15. 1999-2000 Lee Goren - Alt. Capt. (Title year, tournament MVP)
  16. Here's a few for now. Sorry for the awful lighting. Green always seems to translate poorly on my Galaxy SIII (Note 4 next month, woohoo!). I've gotten a few others as well, but will limit my post for now in case Nick decides to post more Duluth jerseys. 2007-08 TJ Oshie - Alt. Capt, UND125 1956-57 Bill Reichart (Captain, but they didn't have C patches yet) 1996-97 Jason Blake (NCAA Champions)
  17. Heck of a hockey game. Not upset in the least. A bit of a lucky goal at the end for Minnesota, but that was one heck of a game. I'd probably be more angry if UM won the title.
  18. It's going to be a little tight in the arm pit areas. The seams don't really work that well together. Really take a look at a Swift, for example, and ask yourself why each seam is the way it is. Or, really look at any modern cut jersey, Edges included. It's a good start, but needs a bit more work.
  19. I think this design will translate better when on ice. It looks fine in the pics, but once they're skating around, I think people will appreciate them more. The big question is, and maybe it's been answered, are they keeping their awful alternates?
  20. No, it's easy to understand. I'm just trying to get you to understand your own self-issues of "me me me me me me me, now now now now now now". I agree with you in one aspect, they shouldn't have told you the time frame they did. But, for all I know you talked to the janitor. Three to four months is plenty fast for a custom order, especially from a place who doesn't typically deal with small public orders. I'm not sure what's so hard for you to understand. Especially when you don't need the jersey now, what's the big deal? Again, the lack of communication likely stems from the fact that they don't have the personnel in place to deal with continual harassment (and yes, it's harassment..."the act or an instance of harassing, or disturbing, pestering, or troubling repeatedly") from the public because that's not part of their standard operations. Like I said, they are doing you a favor. They aren't trying to screw you over or ruin your life. You could at least have some patience and understanding. You'll enjoy life more that way. Trust me, I'm not trying to irk you, just trying to get you to better understand your situation a little bit better from a person who's been through the experience before many times.
  21. Just out of curiosity, why do you need the jersey so fast? It's still summer.
  22. There is so much awfulness in this thread right now. Time to post some recent pick-ups of my own. Don't let me forget...
  23. I know you were quoted 4-6 weeks, but that person may have been new or not versed in their own operations. Who knows. I would have absolutely s*** bricks with joy if I heard one of my custom orders was only going to take 4-6 weeks. I just finished (well, almost finished) doing about $20,000 worth of custom jersey ordering for UND for a renovation project. All orders were small batches of 6-10 jerseys through various companies all around the country, not to mention the dozens of different custom jerseys I've ordered in the past not involving UND. The very best turnaround times I've had were 3 months, some as long as 11 months (that was a bit excessive, but true story nonetheless). Gemini isn't a company that deals with small custom orders like these. We just finished receiving our custom order from them and to get them for our deadline (about a 3 month turnaround time from order to completion) and it was like pulling teeth...and UND already has an account with them and they even make the game jerseys for the women's team (our order was unrelated to that). Yes, you were all expecting 4-6 weeks, but blame the person that told you that. It was completely unrealistic in reality. Maybe they had your order lined up but some teams came in last second and said they needed some things changed in time for the season. I promise you, from both a business and social aspect, calling and harassing them and demanding things isn't going to help your cause. I don't mean to be rude when I say that, but it's just the facts. Politeness goes a long way. Just remember to put yourself in the other person's shoes. If you were running the company and had umpteen orders for actual teams, home and away and sometimes alternates, and they repeat business every single year, and you have limited staff and time to complete these orders, versus your small one-time order, which would you be more worried about? They aren't trying to be jerks by not getting yours done, but there are definitely priorities. Most places wouldn't even give you an opportunity to do an order like this. Try calling Reebok or Nike and having one of the jerseys they didn't bring to retail made in a small batch like yours. You'd be lucky if they even picked up the phone. Have some patience. Gemini does AWESOME work and you will be rewarded for your wait.
  24. I'm not saying UMD didn't deserve to win the title, they did. They were the only team to win four games in the NCAA postseason. I will admit that in 1997 Michigan was the best team in the country, but BU beat them before ultimately losing to the Sioux. It all works itself out. I'd rather be stuck on 7 than struggling for a second.
