  1. Bit of a thread hijack here, but this also involves stain removal. I have an old replica jersey with a pressed on crest. There is a stain on the twill border of the embroidered crest. I have tried to wash the jersey with no success. It almost looks like a thread from the jersey was burned into the crest as the stain is a line the exact same color as the jersey ( don't see how this is possible though). If I tried to use acetone or a stain remover would I run the risk of loosening the glue and having that part of the crest pull up? My guess is yes so I have resigned myself to living with the stain, but any thoughts would be welcome.
  2. Jersey I have must be a replica then because I know it was purchased in the early 80's and it doesn't have a fight strap. Nice replica though, very heavy mesh and everything is stitched on. Each different color is a separate piece of material stitched together. To comment on the measurement post: 22" pit to pit and 32" long in the back. Gotta be really tall and skinny to wear this one!
  3. Below are a couple of pictures of a Rangers jersey I have from either the 81-82 or 82-83 season. Does anyone know if this is an authentic jersey or a replica? Did they make replicas in the 80's? All I know about the jersey is it was purchased at MSG. Although it is size 44, I can still get it on and I am 6'2" 220lbs. The jerseys must have run big back then! Thanks for looking. Nameplate Help

Based on the replies you customize your jersey to match the on ice version. If they have a nameplate, you use one. But why are they there in the first place, guess that is a better way to phrase my question. What is the purpose of the nameplate?

    CCM 550

May have answered my own question. Just received a Koho replica jersey that is made in Canada. I have the exact same jersey made by CCM that is produced in Indonesia. The stitching seems to be the same, same double shoulders, but the Koho is just a little heavier. The material looks the same, just feels slightly thicker on the made in Canada jersey.

    Nameplate Help

In customizing a jersey why are nameplates used? Is it bad to have the name stitched directly to the jersey? Maybe someone can clear up the nameplate issue for me.

    CCM 550

Hello, I have noticed the CCM 550 replica jerseys are made in both Indonesia and Canada. Other than the obvious location, what is the difference in these jerseys? Do they use the same materials? Thanks for any replies.
  8. Thanks for the reply Brilliant! I actually purchased the Slovkian flag for these jersey from altanhl, but he didn't have the Kings shield. Checked nerdgirl_bc's stick, no luck there either. I found a couple on ebay, but on the pictures of the patch the KINGS looks crooked (perfectionist). I bought both I saw in hopes that one looks good Thanks for the advice on EPS, I will send what pics I can find and provide complete written instructions.
  9. Hello, I recently acquired a blank World Team all star jersey from the 2002 game in Los Angeles. The jersey is a CCM 6100 authentic, beautiful jersey. I tried to have Icejerseys customize it for me but they said they can't do that era jersey. The guy I got the jersey from said I should try EPS, and they said they could do it and gave me a quote. Unfortunately they don't have the team or country patches, but I found an official flag on ebay. Going to turn the jersey into a Palffy #33 jersey, so I am trying to find an official Kings shield patch. No luck there, but I ordered an unofficial patch and will see how it looks when I get it. In the reading I have been doing here, there are some mixed reviews of EPS, which kinda surprises me since they currently do a couple of NHL teams. So...am I in good hands sending my prize jersey to EPS for customization or are there better alternatives? Also, I am a little unsure what to ask for in my customization, since it seems the more specific you are the better. Locating the patches and numbers no problem, but what type of twill? Layered or the kiss cut. It would seem layered to me, but I want whatever was done on the on ice jerseys themselves. Also the name, should it have a name bar or be stitched directly to the jersey. If a name bar, do i need to specify air knit material? Josh at EPS assured me the jersey would be exactly like the on ice version, but I don't want to leave any room for error. Lot of rookie questions I know, but I have only had my jerseys customized at Staples Center to date. Although I have been happy with the work, I have no basis for comparison. Also wonder where they send their jerseys, the salesmen wouldn't tell me. Thanks for the replies and reading through all of this.

    CCM 550

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I think my question applies to the OP. By the way first post, purchased an all star jersey here and thought I would join up and say hello. I have also gotten back into jersey collecting. I picked up a couple 550's on ebay for cheap and am having them customized, stitched of course. I also have a couple of RBK premiers and to throw my two cents in I like the CCM jerseys much better. Both in fit and feel. Those lame shoulder patches really kill it for me on the premier. Thankfully my Kings 3rd jersey doesn't have shoulder patches. Now my question is I have seen CCM 550's made in Canada and also made in Indonesia. Does anybody know if there is a difference in these jerseys other than where they are made? Materials? Quality? Did they move the replicas overseas when Reebok took over? The couple of 550's I purchased are made in Indonesia and I am wondering if the Canadian made are better. Any info would be much appreciated.
