  1. Thank you, felt that was the case nice to have verification from a well-trained eye. I've been browsing craigs and ebay looking for a Hawks edge, tough to come by under $175- not 100% sure the rules here but if anyone is interested in lightening their load feel free to message me, seems there is a lot of crap floating around.
  2. I logged out and it still came up, so thought it might ..should've known better Anyway- this should be public http://www.facebook....54&l=447871b92b Its Kane, I know the Sharp was fake.
  3. Found someone on craigslist nearby... Said his friend purchased the jersey at a game, 100% authentic and looking to get rid of it cause he needs the money, $100 Not sure but based off what I learned here it doesn't look the part. Especially lacking the seam on the back of the neckline... Thoughts? https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=01a8016f16&view=att&th=12e8d3f4e6b5e27a&attid=0.1&disp=inline&zw https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=01a8016f16&view=att&th=12e8d3f4e6b5e27a&attid=0.2&disp=inline&zw
  4. I didn't design this, but really hope it's adopted at some point. I noticed this design surfacing in the Spring.. I think it's stellar
  5. I understand there are variations in fakes, but they've gotten better in replicating the "RBK" wording behind the smaller RBK. You can still tell it's fake as it is not as clear as your original picture, but it is definitely vastly improved in the fakes from the bottom picture.
  6. The Next One- I'm glad you called him out on his email, it's never surprised me people try and get away with that, but when you exploit people you know it just takes it to another level. All for what, $30 profit? When there was that major issue about the Penguins winter classic jerseys being seized, I didn't really see the big deal, After reading on here, seeing the bigger picture, it really is a shame. I'm a grad student so I don't have a lot of money at the moment, but look forward to putting that $70 I get back and saving for a few weeks so I can shell out on a premier. Not the best I can get, but oh well!
  7. Appreciate the feedback. A good friend is more important than the $70. I contacted him and explained the situation. He kept getting his stories mixed up. Before I bought it he told me "he knew a guy", then he said the guy he got it from "gets it through his uncle" then it was "knew it couldn't be 100% authentic for that price but maybe a step down". Not that it's relevant, but he is a friend of my closest friend, so that's how I've always known him. He said feels terrible and he'll give me my money back and return the jersey to his "friend". Though, I think he knew and just didn't want to admit it. Maybe he didn't understand I can buy this jersey for $35 (as stated by a member earlier) and really thought it was "the next step down (premier). Either way, it's a messed up situation and I definitely see him in a different light. I do appreciate you guys wanting the real thing. I'm very much the same way, I'd rather pay the $140 at a sporting goods chain for a premier than a poor knock-off of an "authentic" for $70. What is insane is the length whoever designed this went to make it look authentic; the fight-strap, the big RBK on the collar behind the RBK, the Canadian tag. Even the "Finals" patch has discrepancies from the original, though they tried. Anyway, situation resolved. All the knowledge being shared on here is great Very educational, thanks everyone plan on sticking around and learning a thing or two
  8. Hey all! New member. Just want to say I appreciate everyone striving for the real thing. A friend recently bought a gift for my neighbor for Christmas, a Hawks throwback. I was immediately impressed and asked him how much. He explained to me that he "knows someone" who can get authentic jerseys for cheap. Being that I have known this guy for over 10 years, I shelled out. I asked for a Red Sharp jersey. $70, not too bad. When I got it, I noticed the "A" was off-set, in actual pictures it is much more centered, so suspicious I began doing some research. I googled "how to spot a fake NHL RBK" and have been browsing on here for the last hour. Needless to say, I am pretty much certain it is a fake. It's not a terrible one, but it's still fake. I suppose the only positive here is that I know him well enough to confront him in person regarding the issue and demand my money back as he mislead me ensuring me it was authentic, and not this knock off crap. So my question, how would you guys recommend approaching this? I am going to ask him first who he got it from, without explaining to him that I know. If he is wishy-washy I am going to call him out on it and demand my money back, BUT, since I am close to him, I want to know if there are any legal implications I can threaten him with (report him to ______ for selling fakes as authentics, etc) I suppose when you buy on ebay or craigslist, you don't have the luxury of knowing who the person is, and where they live, so I suppose I can use this to my advantage. Maybe he really didn't know and is being tricked by someone else, either way, I'd rather save the $400 and get a real jersey.
