There was a post in the under $150 jersey group where a guy posted a PM with a seller where the seller would only do the deal via F&F

Keep in mind too that money received via Paypal as F&F does not show up on the 1099-MISC that Paypal sends you at year end. That's one reason why some sellers are strictly accepting F&F... although they really should have documentation of what they bought the jersey for. In the end, most of us just wash out on profit/loss when moving stuff, I believe.

  2. Does anyone happen to have a pair of light blue Reebok Vector or Wordmark patches from a stripped practice jersey?  Looking to 'backdate' a blank Admirals jersey, but has CCM tagging on it.

  3. Long time without a post, but after seeing a TON of Made in Indonesia Blackhawks Winter Classic style 'Authentics' on ebay of late, decided to stop at the nearby Marshalls here in Illinois. In hindsight, based on the ebay seller with 15 WC jerseys for sale in my town, I was obviously late.

But... they didn't look on the Big & Tall Rack and I was able to score a Size 60 white Adidas Hawks practice jersey, Made in Canada. Complete with standard non-retail tagging at the end of the sleeve. Out the door at $18.50 after tax... can't complain!

Saw over the weekend that GWA are skipping their Spring Auction for this year and will have their next auction in the fall.  From their email it seems like a lot of their consignors provided feedback that they would rather put off the auction and wait for the fall due the coronavirus situation.

Does this strike as odd for anyone else?  Classic recently stated that this is their best start to their auctions ever (and from a few lots I have checked out this seems the case) and I have found that buying and selling for me personally has been brisker than usual.  I sold a couple of jerseys in the last month within a couple of hours that I know in other times would have taken days or even weeks.

But when were they reaching out to consignors? For an auction to go live, they need to first receive the jerseys, document/photograph and prepare everything else.  If all of this started mid-March thru April, I don't think any of us expected the boom of sales that we've seen of late.

Is it possible that by the time they could compile enough to give a run, they thought it would be too close to the fall auction?

Love the Manny! Would love to know the other Wings shirts you have as I always liked the Wings IHL shirts.

I thought about buying a Quick, but slept on it and it was gone (and regretted it ever since, even more when it turned out to be a PS jersey). I bought a McCollum jersey from this lot, which is probably a PS jersey as well.

Should be an easy match, there's quite a few pics of him in the black jersey on Getty.

As mentioned on FB, the 50 year patched jerseys were worn in the preseason as evidenced by the nameplates. At the end of the 2016/17 season, the Kings sold these for $300 each and was discussed on here. I ended up with a Quick that I photomatched to every preseason since they introduced that style jersey.

That being said, they had some players like Ben Bishop who were acquired during the season, so I have no idea what that jersey was other than possibly a GI.

  8. Sigh, that's par for the course on Admirals jerseys. Are the sleeve numbers aligned? On a couple of the regular season jerseys, the double-digit numbers are offset from each other by at least 1/4". (Sent you a PM as well.)

    1. What is the story of these patches. This photo is supposedly of a game-worn jersey, but I can't find photo evidence the Sharks wore these patches. (Appears that this jersey's owner added the patch.)

    2. Does anyone have one available if it's not a foul to put one on a jersey?

For one, that's my photo. For two, I take offense at the assumption that I added the patch. Why would an individual add a patch that was never worn in a game to a game-worn jersey? That would hurt the value of the jersey itself.

Spudrock is 100% correct. The jersey above had light but visible wear from the playoffs that was able to be photomatched to a couple trading cards the next season. In addition to the playoff jerseys for returning players, there were also mint GI made up for new players who were not on the team during the previous year.

  10. A better price than what JerseyBaron would have offered, so when evaluating in that framing, they're pretty fairly priced. I don't believe that I had previously seen an Adidas size 52 before.

  11. For the Admirals, I've tried to do one of every home/road alternate per season and have done a good job of sticking to that. I have a few exceptions where another of the same color fell in my lap at a reasonable price. Since then though, I've started evaluating the few overlaps in years where they wore the same jersey (with no variations) and tried to pare that down to 1 of a given style rather than a specific year.

If a buyer makes you an offer, haggles, and then doesnt pay for 2 days -- is it rude to pull the offer? Especially after (1) you are giving a great price; (2) buyer said he'd pay that night.

I think it would depend how badly you want to move the jersey. That being said, I'm guessing they're going to ghost you anyways.
