  1. Not a size-appropriate choice, but since it was a team-issued blank they could have put any player's name on it, regardless of whether the player actually used a 58+.
  2. Well, he lowered the BIN price to $250. Much more reasonable.
  3. OMG, absolutely unbelievable- and he has the balls to ask $275 BIN for a fake, to boot!

Thank you. That makes sense, I guess. I've just never seen a tag like that on any Starter before!

Thanks for the pics, Slim. I was also gonna say I thought the Lemieux was a CCM, because all the Sandow gamers I've seen had collars like this one: http://www.classicauctions.net/Default.aspx?tabid=263&auctionid=57&lotid=770

If you do happen to find pics, I'd love to see the tags and especially the fight strap.

Thanks for the link, HM. Interesting jersey. I don't think Lemieux ever wore this one, except maybe during the preseason of his rookie year. And the collar is also incorrect, as was the case with the other one I posted. It makes me wonder if Sandow deliberately made the collars different to distinguish between the on-ice authentics and the retails or reissues. I've heard that some Sandow on-ice authentics had different crests or slightly different construction than the same model retail authentics, so it wouldn't surprise me if the collars were altered in the "Classic" reissues.

Thanks, Mike! Even though Sandow stopped making jerseys for the NHL after 1984, I was still curious to find out if they kept making replicas or even retail authentics with the Sandow name after that. I did manage to find this, which looks like it might be a replica: http://www.classicauctions.net/Default.aspx?tabid=263&auctionid=27&lotid=215 The collar is from the early 80's, but someone put the numbers on the sleeves, not the shoulders, which they didn't start doing until the late 80's. So perhaps this Sandow is really from the late 80's, as indicated, although I realize this is certainly not proof of that. Maybe the "Sunday" jersey reissue that HockeyMusic saw is also from this time period.

That occurred to me too, but if you look at the order deadline dates, the corresponding delivery dates extend from the beginning to near the end of the 2012-13 season. That seems to indicate that we're looking at next year's jerseys. This also has implications regarding the designs- the Islanders and Lightning may possibly be getting new thirds, and some other teams may be dropping theirs.

That's an interesting size tag on the Starter. To what do the numbers 8 and 21 refer?

There's that same UGWA label again!
  12. Akteon gave you a link to a gamer patch in his post. If the link didn't work for you, here's another one: http://www.leafsjerseys.com/9697_wclark_patch.jpg

No, there are still a few individuals who wear the 1.0 even though their teammates use the 2.0. The entire Oilers team still uses the 1.0's.
  14. It's a legit replica, so you're safe.

Thanks. What I was wondering is, since Sandow seemed to stop making jerseys for the NHL after the early 1980's, did they go out of business soon after that? If they are still around, does anyone know if they made NHL reissues as late as the 1990's or 2000's?

Just curious, do you have any idea how recent a remake this is?
  17. The 48 may look smaller but that's only because the sleeves are less wide. It's definitely not smaller width or lengthwise. I don't wear the 48 Lemieux because it's autographed and in mint condition, but I'll tell you that it feels too big on me anyway. Although the 6100 46's look baggier, I still feel OK wearing them- I can't explain that. This is probably confusing you more than it's helping!
  18. Here's a Pens 46 ultrafil on top of a 46 2002 ASG- you can see the sleeves on the ultrafil are slightly shorter and significantly less baggy than the 6100, which should be perfect for you.
  19. The 2 are very close. The 6100 46 has slightly baggier arms than the 48 ultrafil, and the width and length of the 2 jerseys is very similar. The following picture is of a Pens 48 ultrafil on top of a Kings alternate 46 air-knit: Based on your height and weight I would think that a size 46 6100 would be slightly baggy on you, but if it fits OK then the 48 ultrafil would probably be fine. If you could find a 46 ultrafil it would be even better, but they seem much less common. EDIT: The size 46 6100 in this photo happens to be the largest one I have. Some other 46's I have have sleeves up to 2" shorter than this one.

I just got back my Phantoms from Ruberti's today, and it's done correctly, also thanks to Johnny! Appreciate the help, man!
  23. I've never seen anybody get it exactly accurate. I am going to try Bobcat Athletic for mine, though. PM me for details.

Yes, he mentioned they were air-knit in his post earlier today. (Sorry about being a jerk)

What I'm curious about is why they used ultrafil swatches instead of air-knit. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think the same air-knits, marked 92-93 Set P, were used throughout the entire playoffs. If they started the Finals with a new air-knit set, there would be no need to even use a swatch, they could just sew the Cup Finals patch right on the jersey. It would only make sense to put a swatch on top of the existing air-knit set to cover the Stanley Cup 1893-1993 patch that would have already been on the jerseys when they were used in the first 3 playoff rounds. That way they wouldn't have to strip off each anniversary patch before adding the Finals patch.
