  1. Posting pics of my Giroux WC size 54 the first one is a before and after shot of the nameplate issue I mentioned in the WC thread: this one is what NHL shop did: Here is the new nameplate put on by PE: [/img] again, very happy with the work. now i need to get the right numbers put on the jersey. Unfortunately, NHL shop did my customization and it was completely wrong. PE won't stip the jersey because it was embroidered on, so if i want the right numbers I am gonna have to strip it myself. I hope I don't ruin it, but I can't stand that it is not the on-ice numbering. Just don't get why the online shop of the NHL would have a different, generic font lettering for retail sale which are smaller and different than the numbers being worn on the ice buy the players. Here are some other pics of the jersey, lemme know what you guys think (Johnnyonthespot, I share your number fonts obsession. It keeps me up at night, literally, which is why I'm sending this post at 2:30 in the morning on a Tuesday! Your mindful and constructive criticizms/suggestions would be greatly appreciated): [/img]
  2. Hey guys, two questions: 1) I am not the most technologically competent person, and I have my WC Giroux jersey pictures on my computer, but don't know how to get them from my PC to this post. Can anyone step-by-step me through this? That way I can show everyone why they should NEVER have a jersey customized through shop.nhl.com (like you all didn't know that already!!! Boy am I an idiot when it comes to jersey shopping!) Which leads me to question 2... 2) Those who have had customizations done through the skate zone, does philly express also strip the jersey in addition to customizing? I can't even begin to describe how bad this thing looks. The Nameplate is NOT felt, and the letters are. So the felt letters have matted and bled into the nylon nameplate. Looks so sloppy. I'm also pretty sure the numbers are the wrong size. Not sure if there were two different sets for the authentic and the replica models, but it seems that way when I compared the schenn GW to my Giroux retail authentic. They messed up the stitching on the inside of the bottom of the "8" and in general (the arm numbers especially) look fatter and shorter than the ones I saw in pictures from the WC game. Sucks, but I was gonna have to send it in for the "A" anyway. Just gonna be a lot longer now to have the whole thing re-done. Oh well, look forward to hearing from you guys about this, hopefully I can get these pics up soon to show you what I mean. This forum is awesome. You guys are so mindful of the details in jerseys and I enjoy the feedback that is given back and forth to ensure that we help each other reach our ultimate goal of jersey excellence!
  3. A question for those members who ordered the Flyers Winter Classic Jersey from shop.nhl.com and received the "you can expect to receive your item(s) between 1/4 and 1/12" email. Have you gotten your jerseys/an email update cofirming shipment yet? I have not. Not a word since dec. 21st when we all got the "between 1/4 and 1/12" update. Granted, I had mine customized through shop.nhl (50% off deal was the only reason I did that. At this point, I wish I had gotten it blank and taken it to PE) so I know it takes longer for customized merchandize. But I ordered the ###### thing on Black Friday!!! I didn't even think I was going to get it by x-mas, but was hoping (and quite frankly, expecting) to have it by the Classic, and now its the 10th of January and here I sit looking at the same track order message on shop.nhl telling me the item is located in stock and should expect to receive my item between 1/4 and 1/12. I called this past Saturday to find out the status of my order, and the lady I spoke to told me the exact same info that I already know and have known for three weeks. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and was told that there was no supervisor working that day I could talk to. She then told me that a supervisor would call me "first thing" Monday. No call today. I will be calling tomorrow to get to the bottom of this and find out exactly what the hold-up is. To top it all off, when I ordered the jersey on Black Friday, I was still under the impression that Pronger would be coming back to the lineup at some point, and therefore Claude Giroux (whose name/number I am putting on the jersey) would not be wearing the A for the Classic. So I had my customization done without the A and can't change the order to include it! Now I get an unfinished jersey, in probably another week or so (if not later), just to send it over to the skate zone to ship out to PE for another week to get the finishing touches done. After this experience, I will NEVER buy another thing from the nhl shop! I've had enough bad experiences with other sites and sellers, I figured the official NHL merchandise shop would be a sure shot. Apparently not. ARRRRGGGGGGHHHH!!!! I apologize for my novel-like rants. I will try and be less wordy with my posts in the future (gotta get my jersey pics up on the site as well, not many, but was hoping to do that with my new Winter Classic Giroux as well). Any info/suggestions about the above situation you guys can provide is greatly appreciated.
  4. I read in another thread that there is concern about the winter classic jerseys being indo-edge. It was also said that every nhl team jersey made this year is an indo and that the nhl.shop's features section pertaining to the jerseys had not been updated, so every jersey detail says they are made in Canada, when in fact they are not. So I was looking at the Flyers online shop and checked the features section for the EDGE Authentic Home/Away and the Winter Classic Authentic and here is what each said: The Home/Away EDGE: Features 100% double knit polyester Spandex four-way stretch pique core body PlayDry® performance Lycratalic collar Water repellent Bead Away™ X-trafil fabric is placed on the high-abrasion shoulder and elbow areas Official team graphics on chest and shoulder crests (where applicable) are designed with a combination of direct embroidery and appliqué twill NHL® shield patch is sewn on the bottom front of the collar fabric insert Authentic tie down "fight" strap attached inside back of jersey Reinforced stitching on all seams and hems Decorated in the team colors Officially licensed Imported Country Of Origin: INDONESIA The Winter Classic Authentic: 100% polyester NHL® Winter Classic® authentic jersey AirKnit™ fabric Official special event patch, shoulder patch and chest patch Tie-down "fight" strap inside jersey NHL® shield patch sewn on front neck insert Officially licensed Made in CANADA Although its a shame about the regular home/aways in 2011-2012 (The picture on the web site of the Home/Away jerseys was one of the new "reebok" lettering style at the back collar too. Not sure about other teams, haven't checked yet), it is a hopeful sign that the WC Authentics will at least be Canadian 1.0's, maybe 2.0, maybe even the earlier discussed/rumored "3.0"?!? Maybe Canada only does the WC jerseys as of now. I wonder where last years WC were made. If anyone knows let me know. I have never owned an indo-edge, but I've read enough to believe its not nearly the top-quality that our good ol' neighbor's-to-the-north produce, so I'm glad to know the WC's are gonna be Canadian Reebok and not indo (at least I hope, you don't know whether you can trust nhl.com or not... and that in itself is just too odd, cosidering these are JERSEYS FOR THE FLIPPIN NHL WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HERE!!! STAY UP ON THE WEB SITE UPDATES ITS THE INFORMATION AGE!!! You'd think there wouldn't be a problem with or question about things like this!!!!)
  5. Hey guys, new to the icejerseys forum community. I'm a big fan of jersey collecting (when I can afford it!) and just recently bought an Authentic Flyers Winter Classic Jersey. Can't wait for it to arrive. Got the jersey through NHL.shop.com, got it customized with Giroux through them as well. I know there is a lot of talk about where to get jerseys customized and have had jerseys done through icejerseys.com and also through the skate zone here in philly. Hoping because its a new winter classic that NHL.shop.com's customization won't live up the the quasi-negative reputation that most posts have claimed. Couldn't pass up the 50% off customization on black Friday though (I just hope I don't get a 50% customization effort). To many more posts and discussions!
