  1. The Rangers game that I was able to match this jersey to is the game where he scored the goal. So I feel fortunate. It looks like both white jerseys were the same size, so it looks like it was not a sizing issue. It could be a situation where he changes jerseys in between periods like some players do, but I don't have any confirmation either way. Plus he only wore 1 red set 3 / playoff jersey, so that explanation is tenuous at best.
  2. I have always heard pro-stock for team-owned blanks. I only started seeing Team issued in the past few years. Weird lol maybe I wasn't paying too much attention. I still think team issued is a bad term for them. As collectors, we can tell the difference but people coming into the hobby for the first time I can see them being confused. The way I see it, while they were owned by the team they were never really issued to anything or anyone. Issued is key term and I think that implies that the jersey had a specific purpose. Pro stock to me sounds like it was owned by the team and that's about it, which to me is more accurate. Yeah, MiC are overused. I am seeing listings on ebay for 90's-era CCM replicas being called MiC's which while technically true, is not really what the terms was meant for.
  3. And yes, this jersey continues the trend / mini-theme of "they played for the Devils?!?" portion of my collecting.
  4. I thought I posted this on here too but it looks like I didn't. Jan Hrdina 2003-04 white set 3 / playoff worn jersey. Has some nice marks throughout and a couple of unrepaired holes. Weird thing is that according to the Meigray pop report, there are two white set 3 / playoff set. Not sure why that is as there could be a few explanations. Either way I was able to photomatch it to a game against the Rangers to the marks right by the tail of the crest.
  5. Yeah that Stars jersey is definitely being misrepresented, but it reignited the argument about stripping gamers again. While in a perfect world I would love for zero game worn jerseys to be stripped, we have to acknowledge that we don't live in a perfect world. With Adidas throwing a wrench into the hobby the past 3.5 years, it has made this worse. At the same time, we have to acknowledge that not every jersey can be saved. While stripping gamers will be drastically reduced if Adidas makes MiC jerseys available at retail, there will always be some level of this happening. What you see on FB and various forums are only the most fanatical portion of this hobby and many do not view these gamers as anything more than either expensive souvenirs or something they can turn into something they can wear. Plus how many times have jerseys been lost to history because of the team themselves recycling jerseys? Another point is that the back and forth on these posts seem also include issues with the Team Issued label. I have to say that in the 10+ years of collecting hockey jerseys and the 8ish years of collecting game worn jerseys, I have never heard that label before until about 2-3 years ago. Before that it was just either blank jersey or team pro stock jersey. I think the term Team Issued is a bit of a way to glorify these and often lead to confusion with collectors between that and game issued.
  6. Looks like this argument has spilled over into a new post in the Dallas Stars game worn group last night / this morning. In my opinion, I would prefer people to not strip game worn jerseys. Team-stock blanks and GI's to me are fair game, and I think TC gamers are also largely fair game too. However, I understand that Adidas has put a lot of replica/authentic jersey collectors in a tough spot by denying them the opportunity to buy MiC Adidas jerseys at retail. People stripping GI's and lesser known GW to recustomize into star players have been around forever. However I think if we are able to pressure Adidas enough to make MiC jerseys available at retail I would guess around 75-80% of this problem will go away. This issue really didn't explode until Adidas took over 3.5 years ago and most stripped gamers I see these days are Adidas.
  7. lol nothing to be sorry for. It's just an observation. If anyone is to blame, it's Adidas.
  8. That thread Tiffany posted in the main game worn group touches on something I almost posted on here about a month or so ago. The big trend I have noticed in the jersey collecting world is how Adidas refusing to sell MiC to the public has blurred the lines between authentic/replica collectors and game worn collectors. This, in turn, has made the market for gamers really wonky. Higher-end gamers are still high for obvious reasons, lower-end gamers are now going for higher than they should be because authentic collectors are snatching them up, and the stuff in the middle ($500-1000 range) is just getting crushed between them. Just a really weird time.

I am not trying to point to anyone in particular, but isn't the point of trying to use these guys is to get on-ice specs or as close as possible to? If that is the case, isn't there room for margin of error? I mean I have seen both modern and older era gamers with crooked nameplates, PX-era Devils gamers have sloppy stitching, and EPS stitches the alternate captain's A or Captain's C wherever they have room and not always in the same place.

Ah I see lol. Sounds like some communications I have seen with EPS back in the day. I never really got that from Josh at EPS, but I know others who have. Speaking of Josh, does anyone know if he is still at EPS. I haven't sent anything to them in nearly 3 years simply because I have had nothing to send them. I do have a blank replica I may send soon though. On one hand I can understand some of these guys need thicker skins. On the other hand, I can understand hearing from us jersey nerds over every little detail can wear down on your psyche after a while lol.

    What's going on there?
  12. I did a quick look at photos from when he wore this and it was easy to match the cut collar. Later, when I have time to look a little bit closer, I will see if I can find matches to the marks.
  13. Bernie Nicholls 1992-93 red set 1 game worn. Jersey has marks, a couple of small unrepaired holes and a cut collar.
  14. Shouldn't it be the carrier who refunds you for the lost shipment?
  15. Got this one in this weekend: Alexei Ponikarovsky 2011-12 red set 3 / playoff set game worn jersey. Worn my Poni during the last few home games of the season and the first three rounds of the 2012 playoffs en-route to the Stanley Cup Finals that year. He scored the GW OT goal in game 3 in round 2 against Philly while wearing this jersey as well as when he assisted on the famous "Henrique, It's Over!" OT goal in game 6 in Round 3 against the New York Rangers. Has a couple repairs on the right arm and a small repair on the left arm.
  16. lol us Devils collectors can be a bit nutty but that's another coversation. Yeah I have heard a lot of the stories with Steiner and then even more on Fanatics. It's funny how I hear some people say how much they dislike Meigray but I don't think a lot of people put it into perspective. Overall, I am glad the Devils are a Meigray team. Rangers left the program 10 years ago and I still see a lot of Rangers collectors wishing they would go back to Meigray.
  17. Yeah those auctions went for a lot less than I thought. Cheapest global series was a Severson that went for $380 and the cheapest HHOF game from 2018 went for $250 which was a Lovejoy.
  18. I also sorta like not dealing with the whole auction process. Auctions can often be a crapshoot. For every other cheaper auction like the ones I mentioned before, there is a chance that the auctions can get stupid. An example of that is the Elias Retirement night auction where most players went for $1K+. I paid over $1200 for my Severson from that auction when his normal gamers go for something like $595. At least with retail I know I have it, I don't have to pay for it all at once (It's likely going to be 1-4 more months before I even get this one in as they still have to wear them and give them to Meigray) and I don't have to stay up all night hitting refresh on my computer trying to scramble to get one I like. The downside is that you have to pay for it. And I am still pretty glad that the Devils are with Meigray. They don't have issues with authentication/tracking as some teams do, have a gazillion sets (Ducks come to mind with that), charge out the Arse (like Vegas), or make it difficult as hell to get your hands on them (looking at you Tampa and Carolina).
  19. Auctions don't really work well for the Devils in terms of maximizing profit. Outside a couple of exceptions, a lot of Devils gamer auctions the past 6-8 years have gone under what you would think they would sell for. Examples are the 2018 Global Series where 14 gamers sold for under $700 and 2018 HHOF where all but 3 gamers sold for under $600.
  20. I was able to reserve/pre-order a Devils RR from Meigray. The Devils are wearing 2 sets for 2 games each (4 games total).
  21. The Admin is a baby and I got banned for saying his rules are ridiculous and for calling him a baby. He's just having a tantrum with these rules because he lost out on some jerseys because the seller sold it somewhere else and didn't reply to him quick enough for him.
  22. So in one of the FB groups (the one that allows knockoffs) the admin decided to institute new rules. One of the new rules is that if you post something for sale, you are obligated to respond to everyone who replies to the post that they are interested. If you do not, you will be banned. L-O-L
  23. Ah ok. I have never had a retail authentic from that era.
  24. Interesting that the size is written on the neck tag. I am fairly sure that other gamers I have owned from that era have that as well. However, without a match it is hard to say for sure either way.
