  1. Truthfully - I was originally searching for (as cliched as it sounds) a Roenick or Tkachuk in that styles and was even thinking about the game worn Maciver that Detroit Hockey has for sale (because game worn) but was really hoping to find a Starter wordmark vs. a S-Star variant of the Kachinas. This was the first one I saw and definitely doesn't hurt to have a HOF'er on the sweater.
  2. Thanks! I've gotten lucky the last few months with the Game Worn NCAA College Hockey Jersey forum on Facebook, and with a connection to a long time BC collector when I picked this 2000-2002 BC sweater worn by Ben Eaves in their 2001 NCAA championship run. With more recycling and fewer jerseys issued per year, it certainly seems to be a bit tougher than NHL game worns.
  3. Love it. Michael Sit's sweater is from the 2013-2014 season, and I thought it was particularly punny that I picked this one up at the same time I got Tom Morrow's 2006 alternate sweater. Two fun hockey names for sure.
  4. Three new arrivals over here. Two game worn sweaters from power houses of the NCAA/Hockey East, and a retail authentic (from when that meant something). I had forgotten how nicely made, heavy, substantial these old Starter sweaters were, how crazy different these early Coyotes jerseys are with the high collar and rib knit hem and elbow stripes, and it's my first Starter wordmark to boot! Amazing how more 'real' the Coyote's jersey and it's stacked twill lettering feels compared to the BC Eagles gold alternate which is lighter than air, with sublimated single layer lettering.

    eBay version 4.0

I'm seeing at as re-listed - he wants $2300 CAD for it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164479956168?ViewItem=&item=164479956168
  6. Given the tone from whomever answered the phone - I get the sense that they really don't like small commissions. Or anyone who isn't the Red Sox, or a college team. Would anyone here have any thoughts/advice on another customizer who might be able to replicate the 2001-2002 era BC hockey font? Looking just get the Captains 'C' and 'A' in the home and road versions for a display.
  7. Anyone dealt with Cutting Edge Sports recently? I emailed a request for some captains lettering (home and away C and A kits) for a jersey back in September, and after I learned that their website doesn't have the correct email address listed, I followed up with a call about two weeks later to make sure they got my request. Managed to speak with someone at the shop and was told they were looking at the request and to expect a response but haven't heard from them going on a month later. I've had some challenges with following up with customizers in the past (think Custom Crafted) - and know some customizers don't really like getting one-off small requests. Any suggestions on how best to follow up with them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Thanks! That site is super helpful - Had no idea there was that much variation in the Blackhawks sweaters. Also can't believe I never came across that site before. Appreciate the info!
  9. Forgive the dumb question but can someone explain what 'pinhead' refers to on that Blackhawks crest?
  10. For what it's worth - my 2019 B's Winter Classic also says 18K-051-7387-N/A IMG_9036
  11. So it might be more accurate to post this in the college thread but was able to add this sweater to my collection recently. A 2000-2002 BC Eagles road jersey worn by Ben Eaves. This jersey was worn in the National Championship season in 2000-2001 and then recycled for the 2001-2002 season. It has evidence of pretty heavy game use and team repairs (including removal of the 2001 Frozen Four patch - from my research it looks like BC wore their white jersey for the semi-finals and championship games). I'll just say, I miss the days of sweaters like this. This was the first year for this style of jerseys for the Eagles, which had massive rear numbers (BC reduced the size going forward, and when they switched from Nike to Reebok).
  12. It's also sublimated felt. I had 2 of the B's yellow sweaters, the first was done by EPS (Bucyk, two layers stitched) because I was dealing with an issue with the owner, and found the EPS customization wasn't exact enough comparing it to what I could find on the game used jerseys, though I'd note their name plate material looks spot on, though the color is a bit off in direct light. The second one I wound up going back to have done at Custom Crafted (Bergeron, sublimated one layer of felt) - and while the customization is spot on (for obvious reasons), the nameplate material is something completely different. The color matches the jersey better, but it's 100% different material than anything else on the sweater. EPS - back number EPS - Nameplate and lettering EPS - Captain's 'C' EPS - Arm number, nameplate, lettering and back number Custom Crafted - Arm number and back number Custom Crafted - Nameplate and lettering (you can also see the original white of the felt showing through the stitching) Custom Crafted - Alternate Captain's 'A' (you can see the same white felt material at the top of the 'A')
  13. Yeah - the name plate letters are only supposed to be 2 color (also check out this Mei Grey game worn Backes with the 'A') - and a quick search of every other jersey they have available going back to the first generation 1.0s are all 2 color for the lettering - Would be interesting to learn more about that gamer LAK, when was it used?
  14. You are still correct LAK - the 3-layer stitch went away sometime before the Edge's came around, and since the Edge 1.0s. I can confirm the numbers and the nameplate are all sublimated with stitching to 'break-up' the layers. Savard Away Edge 1.0 prepped to game standards from Custom Crafted - numbers are 3 color sublimated on one layer with gold stitching and white stitching, nameplate is two color, with gold and black stitching. Team Issued Chara Winter Classic style jersey - two color sublimated with gold and brown stitching.
  15. LAK is right. Single layer, sublimated color with stitching between the "layers". Custom Crafted said it was done to save weight., but it's disappointing compared to the old triple layer numbers they had.
