  1. Though there are differing opinions on them as a producer of throwback jerseys, I would recommend maybe trying to contact Mitchell and Ness in Philadelphia. They recently did a Blues Gretzky this past Winter and it looks great. They usually try and match the specs with the original (though quality was, overall, much better before they were bought out). Check out the one they have on their site and try and photomatch it with other ones online. Someone in customer service could probably help you. Just tell them you're interested in the jersey but want to see how closely it matches the originals and see what they say. It is their line of work, after all.
  2. This is mostly true. I really liked the Clarke and Parent jerseys I bought from them during their $100 sales (which I think have only happened twice in their existence). The LA Gretzky is decent but there are some minor clear differences from the true authentics. That one is the definitely the heaviest jerseys I own though and I like it. The newer jerseys had been pretty lackluster for awhile though. They don't even try to get a realistic fight strap in, consistent with the proper era. I got a 97 Hextall and while it looks decent, it's complete crap in terms of the replicated "authenticity". Thin, color is off, lettering/logo is very cheap. Probably the most disappointed I've been with M&N. They even did a run of 97 orange Lindros jerseys that were produced in two different shades of orange! I actually reported to them an issue of counterfeiting because I saw the Hexy jersey that I owned at a store in a (more accurate) darker reddish orange, which was darker than the one I ordered directly from them! Turns out, the Flyers team store had the same darker shade of orange for the same jersey, so what gives? I will say however, that it appears the new batch of jerseys is pretty good. I live about a mile from the flagship store in Philly and walked over to check out the Roy. It's pretty good. You know you're not getting an exact authentic replica with them anymore but I would say that the texture of that jersey reminds me of the Pro Player style, from memory. They nailed the colors too, even has the silver specks. If it was $100, I'd buy it. Otherwise, it's nice to look at. Funny though, before they got huge, they really used to advertise how much they researched each jersey they wanted to recreate and they did really good work with baseball jerseys, but look at the Mikita jersey....It's like they barely even tried on the sleeves, the patch and stripes are so out of position when you try and photomatch it with the era. They aren't really into promoting the jerseys that much anymore. Now it's all about the clothing lines and "high-end" hats.
  3. The guy's Yahoo account was deactivated in the days since his posts. Pretty much tells you all you need to know. I've got no issue whatsoever with people buying fakes. That's their prerogative. The NHL seems to release reports each year setting new record after new record in merchandising sales, so they're doing just fine. I know counterfeits are a widespread problem. Back in 2011 before the official 2012 WC was announced, someone leaked a fake image of the Flyers modeling a WC jersey based off the old Quakers wordmark in a black and orange striped jersey......you should have seen how many people bought counterfeits and wore them to the games before the officials were unveiled. That was one of the funnier egg-on-your-face moments I've ever seen in regards to fakes. But the funnier part with the guy claiming that there is no noticeable difference to the naked eye is just wrong haha. Buy the counterfeits if it makes you happy, that's fine lol, but don't get on a high horse and blatantly lie to people who know you're lying!
  4. What can I say, it's everything I've wanted and then some! I'm a Flyers fan first, but I've wanted this jersey since I was in the 6th grade and that's going back, well, 16-17 years now....where has the time gone.... In any event, true to his word, JB said that pics couldn't do this one justice and I'm inclined to agree. The burgundy in the logo may be a touch darker than the originals but it doesn't matter, it's just a solid throwback offering that's a sight for sore eyes. It's got the mix of 2.0 and vintage CCM giving it some welcome looseness (growing up with CCM jerseys, it just feels natural to have a little bagginess to it). Haven't decided on whether or not I want to go with OEL or leave it blank...I'm quite happy with it as-is, currently. Thanks, picked it up at the Philly guitar show in Fall 2010. First one made in that color. Never get tired of lookin' at her and she plays with a nice fat and warm low end.
  5. In the interest of brevity, everything you said mine as well have been the same words that were about to come out of my mouth haha.
  6. Just ordered a size 52 from JB. He says the pictures don't do it justice...much better in person. Very excited to get it!
  7. Snagged a Yotes throwback from him this morning. Very easy to do business with him. Great guy.
  8. I imagine the ccm replicas will be available for awhile. Since there's no option to customize them currently, I'lL probably wait a month or so and see if any 2.0s surface.
  9. Excited to see the throwbacks in tonight's game! Hoping JB still plans on getting these in stock. I'd love to get a Roenick or Tkachuk!
  10. I know with the Flyers a lot of times they are 2.0 authentics. MeiGray has auctioned off the team-issued special event jerseys in the past, like for the Wives Carnival. I know that the draft day jerseys, in the past, have been legit authentics too....can't speak on 1.0/2.0 since I don't know for all the years since Reebok has been the manufacturer.
  11. With the amount of time that has passed, this is probably irrelevant, but I dealt with CSL back in 2001 to get a baseball jersey lettered and it took almost 4 months to get the product back in my hand after a quote of 4-6 weeks. I don't have a current need to do business with them, but 14 years has gone by and I still don't forget what they did.
  12. I emailed JB on Feb. 6th about the EDGE 2.0 Yotes throwbacks and the direct quote was "Yes, we plan on getting them". Hopefully, that still holds true.
