  1. Yeah I probably should've done that, I just didn't want any trouble. He was clearly disgruntled about the whole thing, I didn't want it to turn into this big issue where I'm dealing with ebay and Paypal because he didn't ship it, or whatever. I was very cordial with him, and he didn't respond well to that. I likely would've been more aggressive if it was a jersey I really, really wanted. I mean, it was a nice jersey, but I could find it again. Hell, maybe when he re-lists it, I'll bid and win it again, haha!
  2. Hello friends, I've got a 2002 Team Canada Olympic jersey (size 44), brand new with tags that I'm looking to trade. It's in mint condition. I recently acquired this jersey because it was a good deal, and hoped it would fit. It does not! My hope is that someone has this exact jersey, in a larger size (52-56) that they would be willing to swap. Thanks for looking!
  3. Picked these up over the last couple days... The Canada white jersey breaks my heart, it was such a good deal so I picked it up, but it's way too small for me, even as a bigger fitting Nike. If anyone has that exact jersey in a 52-56 and could use a smaller one, I'm looking to trade! I'll post in the trade forum as well.
  4. I won an auction last week for a Lidstrom jersey, the seller wasn't clear in the listing on whether or not he'd ship to Canada. I'd emailed before the auction ended, but he never got back to me. Not wanting to lose the jersey, I bid on it and won. He got back to me after the fact, said he wouldn't ship to Canada and cancelled the order. I told him I had an address in the US (father in law) that I could send it to. He said no, and asked that I honor the cancellation. We went back and forth a couple times, this shouldn't be a problem as far as I'm concerned, but he insisted the order be cancelled. I think part of it was that he didn't get as much for the jersey as he thought he would, and this was an easy way for him to get out of it. Sorry to hijack your thread, carry on!
  5. This came in the mail last Thursday, and I'm pretty thrilled about it! The nameplate is yellowing a bit from age, not sure if there's any way to brighten that up?
  6. To echo everyone else, those Wings jerseys are gorgeous. Love the Yzerman.
  7. Very cool, man would I love to find a white North Stars one. Where can you find these re-made authentics and what do they cost?
  8. That Modano is a beauty. Nice pick up. Curious about the tag with the Vintage logo. Do they make authentics in that CCM vintage series?
  9. Yeah, certainly a deal for those in the market. I'm personally not, although I've thought about an old Penguins dark blue third!
  10. I've got a white ultrafil jersey that has a slightly yellowing name bar, is there anything that can be done about that? I considered just having it stripped and a new namebar put on there but if I can avoid that, it would be ideal.
  11. Assuming this is a legit Indo-Edge, it's not a bad deal for those who don't mind buying them. This seller has quite a few different teams. Was gonna post in the Deals & Steals, but wanted to confirm its legitimacy! http://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-REEBOK-NHL-7231A-EDGE-AUTHENTIC-CHICAGO-BLACKHAWK-White-blank-JERSEY-52-/221669684213?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item339c8af3f5
  12. Looking for Curtis Joseph and/or Brendan Shanahan jerseys. First priority would be Blues for both, but any of their other teams are also of interest. Others: Detroit Red Wings Winter Classic authentic (2009 or 2014 - preferably customized) Calgary Flames red or white RBK 1.0 (blank - wanting to turn this into a Joseph) Sizes 52-56 Thanks!
  13. My difficulty lies within the more popular teams, and the abundance of fakes that are produced for them. Chicago, LA, New York, among others. While I think it's generally easy to spot the fakes, it's just that much more garbage to sift through when searching for legitimate jerseys. On the flip side, I always found it quite interesting how easy it is to get a original Coyotes authentic. For whatever reason, there's always a ton of them on eBay and they don't particularly sell that well.
  14. I got it at the Saddledome, I believe December 12 was the day they had the "one day only" sale. It was ready on the 23rd, pretty good turnaround time. This is my first Reebok authentic, can't believe the difference in quality between this and replicas. Very nice.

    The one(s) that got away

Yeah that's true, but I never really wanted to pay the price. And this one went for around 220, which I thought was crazy since a few days prior, another authentic Whalers (customized with a random no-name player) went for almost 350. So this was a steal by comparison.
  16. Just picked up these two last night. They are my third and fourth jerseys from the same seller on Kijiji. The other two were a black mid-90's Stars, and a blue Gretzky-era Blues. All size 56 authentics, $60 each. I also picked this one up before Christmas, capitalizing on the Flames FanAttic 35% off sale.

    The one(s) that got away

My heart breaking tale involves an authentic Hartford Whalers Shanahan jersey (my holy grail). One had come up on ebay, and I mentioned it to my wife, saying that it's all I want for Christmas. As the end of the auction neared, I casually brought it up with her again, basically saying that while I don't want to ruin a surprise, if she's not in on this jersey, then I want to be (as they don't come up that often). She got mad, told me to trust her and that she was in fact watching. We sat watching TV, her on her iPad as the auction came to a close. She didn't win, and was pretty upset about it. I'd told her originally that I expected the jersey to go for upwards of $400, and it went for just over half of that. It was as simple as her misunderstanding about the max bid, and not realizing that what you put in doesn't necessarily mean it's what you'll pay. The part that killed me the most is that I knew if I'd been the one doing the bidding, I would've won it. I went through a lot of phases of grief. Denial was a big one, I thought maybe she was acting like she didn't win the auction so the jersey would in fact be a surprise, I thought maybe she'd gotten one of her friend's to bid on it so it wouldn't show up on her ebay account. Just ridiculous theories, I couldn't accept that this jersey was so close to being mine, and wasn't. It was all for not though, it went down the way she said it did. Fortunately, my story has a happy ending - just today I purchased my white Whalers Shanahan.

    eBay version 4.0

Some sketchy bid action going on here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jarome-Iginla-Calgary-Flames-Koho-Authentic-On-Ice-Game-Jersey-/261681297135
  19. Here are the pictures from my 9 jersey Kijiji haul I mentioned a few days ago...
  20. Found a guy on Kijiji who was selling a pile of jerseys for $10 and $20 a piece. I bought 9 from him, they arrived today: Authentics Coyotes 90's black Roenick - Starter Mighty Ducks white Kariya - CCM Replicas Kings white Palffy - CCM Oilers blue Gretzky - CCM vintage Blue Jackets blue Nash - Koho Sharks 2000's teal Marleau - Koho Stars 2000's black Modano - CCM Red Wings 2000's Yzerman - CCM Nordiques white Forsberg - CCM vintage 9 jerseys, including two authentics, for $130.
  21. What do you guys think about this one? Hard to tell from the pictures, not sure the numbers a glacier twill. Or perhaps the whole thing is fake, I can't tell. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131351921893?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  22. According to NHL Uniforms, the Blues wore CCM in 1996-97, and then Starter in 97-98 (with the Starter wordmark on Blue). That was the final year of the "Gretzky era" jerseys. Would they have switched from CCM to Starter in the middle of the 96-97 season?
  23. Hey guys, I'm on the verge of purchasing an authentic blue Blues jersey (mid-90's), but I noticed something odd; the hem jersey logo is the Starter star logo. Any research I've done suggests that while they did have Starter jerseys, they never actually wore a blue jersey with that logo, only the Starter text logo. I don't believe this is a replica, as there's an NHL logo beside the Starter logo, and the jersey itself appears to be of higher quality than typical Starter replica's from the 90's. Does anyone have any insight?
  24. A friend of mine has a great story about once delivering a pizza to Trevor Kidd's house in Calgary, to find Trevor Kidd wearing his own jersey when he answered the door.

    DEALS AND STEALS

Hey everyone, I recently discovered this forum and I can't believe the collections some of you have! All the different tips and tricks I've learned about jerseys, and I thought I knew a lot already. Great community you've got here! Anyway, on topic... I recently picked up an authentic dark blue Oilers Curtis Joseph jersey off Kijiji for $40. Easily the best price I've paid for an authentic, and I'm a big Cujo fan so that was the icing on the cake!
