  1. Looks like some nice wear on those Courtnall sleeves. That black mark on the stomach should be a slam-dunk photo-match too, yeah?
  2. I like the wool ones a lot. They're constructed very well and they feel great. It's just the sizing that can be a hassle. That said, I don't mind the adjustable polyester hats one bit. I have a bunch of those too and they wear a hell of a lot more comfortable than the wool.
  3. Hey cool, I did that Desjardins way back when! I still have the pictures saved on my computer. I still maintain that it's the 2nd decent thing the Flyers have ever done....with the first being beating the snot out of those dirty Commies back in 1976.
  4. I agree that the on-field caps are very hard to gauge. I have a tough time fitting my stupid head into some fitted hats but then other teams fit wonderfully. I have a beautiful New York Giants 1951 throwback fitted hat that fits perfectly but then I have a purple Rockies from last year IN THE SAME SIZE that is a little tight and leaves marks on my forehead. It's very frustrating.
  5. Red Dawn was on last night and I watched the whole thing. I have nothing else to add beyond that.

    Grail stories

I have one. Years back, I had tracked a grail down after a fairly lengthy search. I even had a family member and some strange woman helping me out with the whole thing. We had it pinpointed to a Middle Eastern country of all places. Just to the east of Istanbul, Turkey. But, it turned out that some fascists found it first and made me do three tasks to prove my worthiness. I passed them all but then some dumb blonde dropped it into a chasm. It all worked out though because she fell in too. Vindication! Oh yeah and I definitely wasn't named after the dog.
  7. Asking $600 but open to reasonable offers. Sz 52. The Cullen patch is embroidered though rather than screened.

    eBay version 4.0

I'm more interested in that Dawson's Creek box set. Finally!
  9. It could be from the summer of 2000 when CCM bought back all the league contracts. Maybe they started to make jerseys with the logo still on the hem before going onto the neck. Who knows?
  10. It's not hockey but I just got it. Worn in 2002-03. No descriptions necessary.

    Top 5 jerseys

Most regular people would say it's hard.
  12. The stripped patch jerseys were almost always used in the pre-season.
  13. You're right. I just watched it and the spacing is a lot wider than this one which leads to it being restored. But so what? It's still gorgeous. It's too bad you weren't around here when I still had all my Blues stuff. You would have loved them. I had a whole bunch. Tkachuk, Weight, Chaser, Gordie Roberts, Rick Zombo, Jocelyn Lemieux, Kevin Miller, etc.
  14. Oh my Lord yes. With the double fight strap too. What an absolute stunner. Sandow durene I assume? Is the name genuine or restored? Not that it matters; I'm just curious because of how many of those got the recycling treatment. That era is my favorite Blues style of all-time. There's none better. I was never able to afford one when I still collected NHL stuff and it's one of a few regrets I have from this hobby.
  15. Maybe. Which one is it? The regular style or the throwback? Any nameplate material required? Who do you want on it? Baby Fark McGee-zax?
  16. Out of curiosity, what makes you think it's specifically from 1981? Is there a set tag that says so? --Is it all mesh with knit stripes? --Are the arm numbers on the wrists? --Whose number is on it? --What color and how layers are the numbers?
  17. Holy crap, the Worcester IceCats??? That is fantastic! From a bygone era when the AHL actually had a Canadian, New York AND New England Division!
  18. The old Forum blue and gold ultrafil Kings jerseys were just about as good as they got. I had a Dave Taylor with the 20th patch on it going back at least ten years ago now. Every time I see on of those, I think of Iron Maiden. I got the Taylor jersey the same week I saw them at the Garden. I remember "sitting" in the basically the same seats I had for the Rangers...even though that wasn't what I'd bought. For some reason, the power went out in the middle of the show and they all started playing soccer on stage while the crowd sang the Ole chant. I was sooooo effin drunk and high, I barely remember getting home that night.
  19. 1st period jersey and used to register a SH assist. Light wear. $1,800.00
  20. I wish I could have found an Edzo Hawks jersey when I was still collecting NHL stuff.
  21. Oooh a double stripe North Stars jersey. Those were super sharp.

    eBay version 4.0

You laugh but I've been saying that for years. Reebok too. It's really the only explanation to why eBay has always and still allows all that crap to run rampant on their site without any repercussions. They're probably getting kick-backs from the manufacturers that play both sides of the coin.
