  1. It arrived today v. 8.0

Remember, that crap is a chemical. The more you use it, the more it will cause discoloration. Especially on the white areas. I've seen leftover residue like that before. You're probably not getting it off clean. Sometimes it's just a lost cause.
  2. The Patch Thread 2.0

I believe the real ones had chain stitched letters.....I think.

Glasses. Spectacles are when you make a scene in public.

Pictures of him are pretty much impossible?? Vampires do exist!! Run!!!
  5. It arrived today v. 8.0

I would imagine the bigger liquor chains have them. Anywhere you'd find a 12-pack of Molson most likely. The funny thing is this was my 3rd attempt at getting all six teams. The other two cases shorted teams. You'd figure there would just be two of each team in every pack but noooooo. I ended up with five Bruins and four Leafs on the first try! Who the hell wants those???
  6. UAA Seawolves - CCM Years

    I would say between 2003 and 2007.
  7. It arrived today v. 8.0

This arrived today! But now have somehow magically disappeared.....
  8. Hey, if you want to find me a Chelios or Olczyk from the same tournament, it's all yours! Back to the question at hand, I highly doubt Pederson's ever made the pro versions available at retail. I think CCM was really the first company to truly produce the on-ice product for sale to the general public. Anything you might have found back then could have been leftover team stock.

I think the more appropriate question is who to get put on it: Betty Spaghetti or Marla Hooch?
  10. I don't think it's anything beyond a replica. There was a outside company that replicated the design about ten years ago. I had one back in like 2010. They were good quality but they didn't have the double elbows like the game ones and the mesh was slightly wider and thinner. It might be another of them. Either way, it would be worth getting customized. There were some good options on that team. Chelios, LaFontaine, Iafrate, Millen, Olczyk, etc. For the record, here's one of the actual used ones from that year:
  11. 2017-2018 Jersey Watch

I like it. I know it's a different country and sport and everything but it's reminiscent of what the Midshipmen have used for the Army-Navy game in certain years.
  12. The feedback thread

Due to a suggestion by someone here(I honestly cannot remember who), I have decided to start a thread where all members can post their comments about any sales conducted with other board members. This will allow anyone who wants to buy/sell here to have some clarity as to who they're dealing with. Let's TRY to keep it positive though please. If you have a bad experience(hopefully not), just make sure to keep it respectful and discreet. Either that, or contact myself or another moderator and we will continue from there. Annnnnnd GO!
  13. eBay version 4.0

Anything from Starter used on the ice was made in Berlin, WI. The manufacturing company is actually called Ripon Athletic and they produced NFL jerseys for a long time too. Believe it or not, Ripon is the company that ended up buying out Medalist/Sand-Knit, a division of MacGregor Sporting Goods who had produced MLB and NBA uniforms for a time in the 1970's and 1980's. Sand-Knit even produced several prototypes for NHL teams as well. I have a very old Atlanta Flames Sand-Knit jersey that was used as a sales sample in during the 1970's.

Timpano sounds like something you'd order at a sushi joint.

  17. eBay version 4.0

Yeah but even if it's a legit blank...which it does appear to be judging by the fabric and the collar stitching, it's easily worth $175-200. That version is probably the nicest the Isles ever wore. Before all the navy and other horrors.

So it might be a bag of poop.

Yes. Leftover team stock that was never customized. Speaking of baseball jerseys! It might be time to start buying up all the cheap Indians jerseys out there.

Hot dam! Those Michigan jerseys are beautiful. I LOVE the Big Chill style. I'm not a fan of the Maize and Blue AT ALL but they do have some sharp stuff. Nothing major here. Just another Titans on the pile. This time a first set 2002-03 before the ECHL re-branded from the East Coast Hockey League: It's kinda curious since there's no MeiGray tag on the hem. But, the wear is solid on the arms...and who in their right mind would fake a Matt Zultek jersey?
  21. Hurricanes/Whalers Connection?

Could you imagine the money each team would make if the Hurricanes and Avalanche played a Winter Classic using their original uniforms?
  22. It arrived today v. 8.0

At this most-recent MeiGray Expo, Larry Pelliccioni brought a Justin Abdelkader USA Swift jersey to my table asking me if I'd ever seen the style before. He was beyond confused as to why it had a fanny pack strap (I think those were his exact words) inside instead of the fight strap and why the lettering was all heat-pressed. After looking at it and realizing what it was, I explained to him that it was most definitely a first-generation Swift jersey only used for a very brief time in 2006 and they were quite a bizarre change from what we're used to as collectors. I'm not even sure they were even used in the Torino Olympics that year now because MeiGray has a white Rick DiPietro USA from that tournament for sale and it absolutely has the fight strap in the back.

Here's a shot of an unused Astros 2003 jersey I have showing the velcro inside: The great thing about this one is that it also has the Columbia memorial patch on it which was never available at retail. Though, the velcro isn't ALWAYS a telltale sign of a team jersey. I've owned a few older Majestic jerseys with hang tags that also had the velcro so who knows what the rhyme or reason was?
  24. The Official IceJerseys MLB thread

That's the only velcro I know of! Yes, it was put there to prevent the placket from flapping needlessly on the jerseys with larger crests and wordmarks. The Mets are a good example: The velcro is sewn in underneath the e.
