SabreFaninNYC
Today is Free Agent day, where are the big names gonna end up? Mirtle's got a great live blog up right now of all the signings. http://mirtle.blogspot.com/2008/07/free-ag...-live-blog.html Huet to Chi-town huge, Leaves overpaying again, trades galore and Detroit somehow getting Ty for cheap. What a day so far!
raptor0192
The Lightning have now signed Kolzig: http://lightning.nhl.com/team/app?articlei...mp;service=page As well as the Pens' Adam Hall. The Caps then turned around and signed Jose Theodore to replace Kolzig. The Pens have resigned Eaton and Dupuis. Let's see if the remainder of the Hossa deal stays in Pittsburgh.... The Pens should have tried harder for Ty, if they even tried at all.

JeffB
Rolston heads back to Jersey. The Wild really, really dropped the ball letting him get away with pretty much no prospects for replacing him with a player of equal talent and leadership. This was so avoidable it's not funny. raptor0192
Check out the bottom of this article: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...=rss&feed=8 The Pens called up to check on Jagr. That would be interesting, wouldn't it?

Also Zherdev dealt to the Rangers, hope the move helps wake him up, he is one of those players that has the talent but just hasn't put it all together at the NHL level. akteon
That sounds like what I always heard about Alexei Kovalev before his breakout years with the Pens. I thought the same thing, if Zherdev is the next Kovalev. What always killed me is that he began to live up to his potential with the Pens, so the Rangers got him back - only to have him slump again. Now he's a super-star for the Habs.
