evodevo
Hi folks, first timer here - thinking about purchasing a Doug Gilmour jersey off craigslist and I just wanted some informed opinions on here. The seller claims the jersey is a "rare type" in that early in the 1992/93 season the leafs wore jersey's where the numbers "touched the stripe" on the arm (like the bottom of 93 touches the white stripe on the sleeve) - can anyone confirm that? I haven't seen any good pictures where this is true. Furthermore, the seller did provide a picture of Gilmour where it does appear the number touches the stripe slightly although it wasn't conclusive enough because of the angle. However, on the jersey that he has, the bottom of the numbers noticeably overlap with the stripe somewhat. The only thing that's tempting about the jersey is that it's got the commemorative 100th stanley cup patch on it. edit: nevermind, I've just verified that the numbers did in fact touch the jersey as claimed. Still not sure about his jersey though, as the numbers don't "touch" but overlap. Add is here: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-art-collectibles-authentic-pro-doug-gilmour-leafs-1993-rare-jersey-W0QQAdIdZ459880689 Also it doesn't have the "A" on it

The Next One
Seller is full of it. You can put the numbers anywhere on the sleeve, so it doesn't make anything rare.
00xtremeninja
^exactly. dude would have been better off trying to hype that it has the patch on it vs where the numbers are placed.
evodevo
Hmm, yea I thought that also. Even the patch itself - i found jersey's on http://www.goodnflfamily.com that clearly sells fakes from china, that have jersey's with the same patch... The guy is asking for $300 loll... 00xtremeninja
don't purchase fakes.
slimcutta
Ummm, just for the record, the seller is correct - the first set of the Leafs did have the numbers touching the sleeve stripes, where the rest of the sets did not. I discovered that when I was doing research to properly customize this Clark here - http://www.fotki.com'> http://www.fotki.com'> Not that it should be a big deal in terms of pricing...you can probably find a blank Leafs for $100-120, and have it customized after the fact with an authentic patch for much less than $300. As mentioned above, don't buy fakes, and recognize that the patches on that fake site are also fakes...the one on the Gilmour is probably authentic. foppa21
Any input one this jersey please? http://postimage.org/image/3obqeiedn/ http://postimage.org/image/vpprs7jnv/
Bobcat1988
Any input one this jersey please? http://postimage.org/image/3obqeiedn/ http://postimage.org/image/vpprs7jnv/ It's a fake. The shape of the jersey isn't right. I don't even know the precise details of Avs customization off the top of my head, but it just looks off even without knowing it well. Not that it necessarily always means a fake, but the wrinkles are often a bad sign, too. The NHL logo shouldn't be covered by the laces, either. See below for comparison:
Xspoilerx
On the back collar on the avs third jersey it says avalanche in white That one is just black
And justice for yall
Sorry for the large images guys. How does this one look? If its good, I have two followups: 1) What is the size comparison between this and the Edge 1.0? 2) How difficult would it be to strip this and make it a Kovalev? Thanks in advance. LAK74
That jersey has been for sale forever. There is no doubt it's legit though. Your other 2 questions have no simple answers. I can only say that as someone who wears CCM 44's like this one, I prefer Edge 50 as the closest possible fit, but keep in mind the cuts on these 2 jerseys are very different, so it does not mean you will necessarily feel the same way. As to how easy it will be to strip, that will depend on the type and amount of adhesive used to attach the kit originally. You're not going to know until you try. akteon
Jersey is legit, customization is wrong. Looks like someone got a kit from 20West. As for stripping the jersey, the good news is that the customization looks much newer than the jersey itself. Hopefully it'd come off well. Hockey Bob
Size would be very small, (kids size) I don't think the Edge 1.0's go that small???
Cygnus X-1
I wear CCM's size 44. Or 46. Or neither b/c it all depends on how they tagged them. I have a 44 and a 46 with the exact same dimensions- CCM is known for inconsistencies in their sizing so the best thing to do is send a message asking for the measurements but in general I do a 44. In EDGE, I do a 46- I can squeeze by in a 50 (the sleeves are a bit longer though). It aslo depends on your preferences. I'm 5'5", 135 and my absolute cutoff in length for any jersey is 31.5-32 inches long from back collar to bottom hem. Stripping- everything will be unknown until you try. I had EPS do a nice job stripping a white CCM NYR mesh.
OR68
I asked about the sizing of that rangers 44., The seller said it was 23" width and 29" length.
Cygnus X-1
that's about right for a
And justice for yall
I'm 5'7 and about 160. Might be pushing it. I wear 46 in the Edge comfortably and could pull off a 50 as well if necessary.
foppa21
How about this Orr Winter Classic jersey? http://postimage.org/image/r22nzo5xf/ http://postimage.org/image/mwrrdr85f/ http://postimage.org/image/bhva94vsz/ http://postimage.org/image/ppkyxs8hv/ Edit: Thanks for the reply, I compared it to pictures and it's clearly wrong customization (not sure about the actual jersey though; anyways, not interested anymore). How about this Gretzky jersey though? http://postimage.org/image/auj3lao7h/ http://postimage.org/image/k3l9vex3h/ Thanks

LAK74
How about this Gretzky jersey though? I don't think the Gretzky is fake. It has the same appearance and lettering as the legit factory-customized 550 replica. The Lemieux is very fake.
cowboys
Fake maybe start looking at different sellers or ask here for some authentics

QueenAnnesRevenge
Hi.
