Just checking with you guys to see if it's real.

This is the item description.

This jersey was used by the Washington Capitals during the 05/07 season.

The jersey is customized with Ovechkin on an Air-Knit nameplet.

This jersey does not have any rips holes or any string pulls.

On the back right hem you will see the authentic Large NHL shield and on the top you have the Reebok vector.

From what i know it looks ok but im not very skilled at this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's completely legit. Customization appears layered instead of kiss-cut, however.

Apparently I have not been paying enough attention to this thread, but it's not really the place to ask if your jerseys are good or not. We have a separate thread for that is conveniently located here.

Let's stick to that one from now on if you have questions about legitimacy of a jersey.

Hey guys.

I have a couple of jerseys I'd like you guys to give me some advice on.

I'm not new to collecting.I currently have about 50.I'm just not sure about these 3.

They are all blank.Just the crest on the front,no name/number.

Red and Green New Jersey Devils.Made by Maska.Says Air Knit. Then some french

Under that it says Trademark of Sports Maska,Inc.AG57.CCM screen printed on the bottom right.

Calgary Flames-Home.Looks like late 80's early 90's.Also made by Maska. The tag is in english.

Made by Maska,Us,Inc. is on the tag. Also air knit. The same CCM screen print.

Montreal Canadiens.White Maska.Tag is in both english and french.Says "patent pending" in english and french on the back side of the tag.

Just want some thoughts on these.I found em in a box in my garage.I have a sneaky feeling there are from when I was a kid and I held onto them.

Post pictures but from what it sound like they are just replicas and replicas weren't faked back then.

Hey - just discovered this site and post - first of all thank you guys!

Second, just ordered this on eBay, heven't received it yet, but didn't make sense that it would start at $0.99...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170867012189?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1359

Did I order a fake? If yes, I want to start lining to up the proof to show eBay.

Thanks in advance

That's either a fake or a really bad customization. Kind of hard to tell with just that picture, but if they are hiding the rest of the jersey it's probably fake.

No visible signs of correct fight strap stitching, most likely fake.

By looking at his selling history it is almost guaranteed a fake as his other sold items are 100% fake (the handful I looked at)

Just a word of advice, when buying a jersey on eBay, ask the seller to provide more pictures (not just one tightly-cropped photo) of the entire front, back, and also more detailed photos of the neck area with the tags, and the fight strap attachment on the inside of the jersey, at a minimum. If the seller refuses, it's best to just pass on it. The Devils jersey looks almost certainly to be fake, unfortunately.

So update to the story...

I asked the seller for pictures of the front which he sent - and I knew right away it was off (especially easy to notice due the Stanley Cup Finals being so recent)

"A" was way to skinny on the front

The "NHL" logo was on a red background, not black

There was no Reebok size patch on the bottom of the Jersey

Canceled the sale, and told the seller he better take off his other listings...

The size tag on the front of the jersey only appears on the "premiere" model ... Reebok's least expensive licensed shirts. They come in generic S, M, L, XL type sizes (biggest I've personally seen was a 4XL, person in it was at least a 6XL). The edge authentics lack that front size "jock tag" , come in numerical sizes and feature a fight strap. They usually start around $300 blank in legitimate retail markets.

What do you guys think of this jersey? The pictures are not very great, which makes it hard to tell. For $120 it has to be fake...

Definitely fake, but I have seen edges go for that price so don't think cause it's that low it's automatically a fake

Agreed. On the jersey in question, the neck lace grommets are set too high. Fake. But you can buy a TML Edge blank from Meigray for $50, so the price is/was not out of line.

Ok. So what in those pictures tell you its fake? One weird thing I noticed was that where the NHL shield is, it should be white not blue (unless they had a jersey that was like that).

The whole shape of the jersey is wrong, for one thing. It's pretty squarish, with a hem that's fairly straight. A real Edge should have tapered sides, flaring out slightly towards the bottom, and the hem of the jersey should be quite rounded, not straight. The front panel of the real Edge is made up of more than one piece of fabric; you can see the stitch lines in this photo of a Kessel gamer:

http://www.gettyimag...photo/107810066

Also see the stitch patterns of the whole jersey here:

http://nhluniforms.com/2010-11/MapleLeafs.html

The fake has a front panel which appears to be one piece only. The fight strap attachment on the back of the jersey looks pathetic- it should be rectangular, with a cross (x) shaped pattern inside it.

This model Leafs jersey with the tie-string neck came out in 2010-11. Retail (non-Indo) Edge designs this recent will almost always have the newer neck tag with "Reebok" spelled out. The fake has the "Rbk" tag which was used on the older model Edges from 2007 on. And yes, the NHL shield panel should be white, not to mention the strings are way too long.

Both are fake, don't waste your money.

Avoid "Heroes of Hockey" jerseys that have that gray-bordered neck tag along with a numeric size tag. The neck tag is only supposed to be used on replica jerseys, which have letter sizes (S, M, L, etc.). The material on the Gretzky has a texture unlike that of any legit authentic or replica, and the customization is wrinkled and cheap-looking, which is a dead giveaway for fakes. The Lemieux actually looks like it's made of airknit, which is a typical material for legit replicas and authentics, but it's still fake and has the same replica tag and numeric size. The original authentic version of this jersey was made of ultrafil, which does not have prominently visible holes in it like you see in this fake version.

(Btw, there's a thread called "Is It Good or Not?" in the NHL section which is a better place to post inquiries like this.)

Hey guys I'm bumping this just for some confirmation. I bought this jersey over the summer from a friend of a friend who apparently "Gets authentic jerseys for cheap" and sells them to people. I only paid 60 bucks for it so I'm not out a lot of money. Just wanted to post some pics to see what you all think, I think I know the answer though...the NHL patch is kind of a dead giveaway.
