It arrived today

Hey Avalanche freak,

I supposed you have other real replica edge right? If you do, why don't you create a post where you compare the fake with a real replica and share it with other collectors, just like what I did? Help out other collectors so they won't make that mistake again.

That's not a fake Premier replica, it's a fake Edge authentic. That's the problem - some sellers are understanding that some educated folks will pass on an "authentic" RBK Edge on-ice jersey if sold for $100 (or less) so now they are passing the fake Edges off as Premiers.

As far as I've seen on eBay there aren't fake replicas/Premiers, only fake Edge authentics.

That's a good idea. I have to figure out how to shrink the photos so they can fit. Ill take some pics and compare them when it arrives.

Very nice. You know, until you said it, it didn't even dawn on me that those powder blues would be much sought after once the Pens ditch them next year. You should slap a Winter Classic patch on there, just in case you ever want to resell it. That patch should add about $100 to the resale value! :D Who did the custom kit? Or did you buy it customized?

Bought it with customization. I actually was looking at Letang or Gonchar but then thought if this indeed becomes one of those collectors pieces then might as well have the franchise guy on it. I think I'll end up getting Letang in black and I'm currently working on ordering a Malkin white with the 2009 cup patch. Then there is Staal which if they indeed go for a new 3rd then I would look at that.

HOLY CRAP DUDE!! What a haul!! Outstanding! I LOVE the Nike Sharks and ESPECIALLY the gold Kings jersey. Awesome. What's on the hem of the Kings one? Is it a CCM patch or is it the white-white-gold embroidered one?

It's a white-white-white (not exactly game specs) embroidered directly into the jersey.

What the crap?? Now THAT is a first for me. I have NEVER seen anything like that before. A 1989 hem tag on a 1986 jersey? That's bizarre and awesome at the same time. Where did it come from?

Just out of curiosity, those 96 World Cup jerseys come with fight strap right? Theres a couple on eBay right now, both appears to have the "engineered to the exact specifications" scripture on the tag, but neither comes with fight strap, so I'm a bit... confused

The pre-customized Nikes didn't have the strap. They're absolutely authentic but they just were just sans strap. It's a lousy feature but an unavoidable one unfortunately.

eBay. It doesn't look like an aftermarket crest or anything either, so I'm stumped.

Mine's got the strap in it. I'm no expert in Nike jerseys or in international jerseys.

The on-ice jerseys look to have the strap; I've seen a good shot of Joel Otto that has the attachment, and one of Tony Amonte that looks like it actually shows the strap in use.

The actual game jerseys had fight straps. Even the retail blanks have them. But, for some reason, the pre-customized jerseys that Nike sold didn't come with the strap. I have no idea why but if anyone else knows, don't be stingy with the info!

Speaking to the Kings jersey again, does that have a small size tag in the collar? It looks like it does from that initial picture. I've never seen that style with that feature before; only with the penned-in size on the Maska collar tag. That has got to be one of the weirdest jerseys I've ever seen.

Just curious, but where did you happen to get the purple mid-80s LA Kings jersey? I have been looking for one like that for a while now.

Yeah, it's got the small size tag in it (which I think started in 1990 or 1991).

I'll probably end up emailing Dan Saevig and seeing if any minor league teams that he knows of wore this particular style. Heck, he's the one who explained why the Islanders road authentic I have was actually a Capital District Islanders gamer.

eBay transaction.

I've had pretty good luck with picking up items that are either poorly described or inaccurately described recently.

Looking good there. That's one of my all-time favorite styles. I definitely prefer the thinner numbers and block font over what they have now. I also had no idea that Rivet has been around so long. Is that a 95-96 or 96-97 jersey?

Same here haha. So we've got a 1986 LA Kings jersey, with a 1989 CCM embroidery on the bottom, and a 1991 size tag on it...

WTF? But that's one hell of a jersey anyway love those old Kings jersey, I have to say it still is my favorite jersey no matter how beat up/a pain in the Arse to get correct it was.
