TMLFAN Posted January 21, 2012 Report Share Posted January 21, 2012 Lupul was a terrible choice (a Leaf alternate? C'mon. If it HAD to be a Leaf, do Kessel or Phaneuf). Thats what I thought. If they didn't have the rule in place, the team that drafted 3 goalies first would be at a disadvantage to some degree because the other team could just take the last remaining goalie last. Im looking forward to the draft, but I go back to class on Thursday, thus ending my magnificent 6 week vacation. Lupul has been the best Leaf this season and considering the comback he's made and the sucess he's having after being out as long as he was with the problems that came from his back surgery I fully support the decision to make him an alternate. Lupul hasn't looked this good since Hatcher (when he went to hit Steen I think) flattened him at the ACC in a game against the Leafs a few years ago. Its not a knock entirely on Lupul being named an alternate (I think Kessel would have been the best choice for a letter), but why not give Thomas to Chara? I just need one of them to end up on Blue, then I'll be sending mine out to get customized ASAP. Printed team patches are $20 each. EPS can customize sublimated Nashville Predators 2011/2012 styles, $65. So for about $85 (shipped) you can have the jersey customized the way it is worn on the ice!
