NHL '94 Is Back!

I don't know if any of you guys are big gamers (or hate to line the pockets of the NHL), but it's been revealed that the upcoming NHL 14 will have a 20th anniversary, NHL94 mode in it. It will include blue ice, retro organ music, indicator stars, no icing and offside calls, plus, there will be more throwback jerseys added. Here's the trailer:

Personally, I'm thrilled even just for the novelty of it. Although, it better have Brass Bonanza in it - I loved jumping about to that as a kid:

You could always add it in yourself.

Touché, good sir. Touché. I've recently added 'The Brak Album starring Brak' to my custom team's intermission music- it never gets old.

Oh I am totally down. This will definitely be my next video game purchase, and as you said, just for the novelty of it.

Thanks for sharing. Love it, below video was my friends and I back in 1994, granted we were 7-10 years younger than these guys!

EA Sports replied to me on Twitter last night after I posted this pic :

  1. @EASPORTSNHL Something seems fishy here... #NHL94isBACK (pic URL)

NHL 94 was great, hopefully more throwbacks means some of the old alternates from back in the day. Maybe Wildwing and BK? I'd be stoked if the good Whalers jerseys made a comeback, the Navy ones with the gray and the old home white to match. Maybe some TBTC sweaters? Who knows, I'm sure we'll find out eventually. It's only 2 months to launch.

As a collector, I cringe at the incorrect hem stamps and some incorrect fonts (e.g. the Leaf's 1996-97 throwback) - but I overlook it because I always choose Vintage over Edge at the jersey selection window. Having all the TBTC jerseys would be awesome, considering NHL '94 used a picture from the 1991-92 season for the cover.
