Mikeykey13
There is a pretty big indentation of the 8 to the right. You can feel the indentation on both sides of the fabric. I've tried turning the jersey inside out , placing a thick wet towel on top of the number and lightly ironing it. I mean lightly, and nothing happened. Can I steam it out? What would cause this kind of crease/indentation? Should I call TTS and let them know about this or is this something I can fix. I really don't feel like sending it back considering it took over a month for them to complete it in the first place.
DropkickMurphy8
I wouldn't be happy with that at all. Not sure if ironing is going to work.
KG777NT
I've had similar problems with numbers that were folded like that, and I'd say your best option at home is to try ironing it again, and if you put a towel down under the iron, you can use more force with the iron and nothing will happen to the jersey with a towel in between. Mnwildfan7000
You can steam it out!
Kaiser416
What I do is put a thin cloth over it, hold iron for 5 seconds, lift and see if any damage is done (shouldnt). Then do it again for 10 seconds and check. If needed, do it for 15 seconds. Repeat as needed.
Mikeykey13
Is steaming it safe? Should I be worried about how long I steam it? I don't want any melting of the edge fabric
Mnwildfan7000
My steamer gets creases out of twill every time and the best part is...I don't burn any of the airknit. I have the shark steamer.
Mikeykey13
Should I steam/iron from the inside out? Or vice versa? I'm pretty upset that it came from TTS like this considering their reputation here on the forums.
Mnwildfan7000
Ruberti's is worse when it comes to shipping. They just stuff it tight in a small box.
Mnwildfan7000
I steam it on the back side and then on the front..working the crease out.
Mikeykey13
What would cause this? Wouldn't TTS notice this before giving it to me?
Mikeykey13
I have a steam tray in my drier. Can I use that?
Hawks WC
Was that the size 50 new black jersey?
brandon
Did you have it shipped? I really wouldnt be too worried or mad at the customizer. You can get that out in literally 10 seconds with an iron, much less time than youve spent posting about it. Just put like a thin towel over the number and iron it with a lot of steam moving the iron fast with a lot of pressure. Itll come out instantly. Mnwildfan7000
My steamer directs the steam where I want to put it. The steamer in your drier may not get it where you want it. So sample a different type of fabric to see where the steam ends up
Mikeykey13
Yea, it is the new 50. Everything is solid, just this crease. I know I could spend time on it right now. I'm just worried about burning it or messing it up, I don't have much experience with this so I'm looking for as much advice as I can get before I actually do it. I don't want to risk ruining this awesome jersey.
Mikeykey13
Can an iron burn the airknit even though there is a towel or shirt in between?
AngeloS76
Not if you have it on a low heat setting, only the high settings will damage the fabric. Low heat, press the steam button a lot, and you'll be lovely. Turn the shirt inside out and use the towel if you want to be safe. It worked wonders on my lettered shirts that creased from being folded in storage.
Girouxsalem
Can an iron burn the airknit even though there is a towel or shirt in between? No it should be fine. I thought your jersey was a 1.0? No air knit on those
Mikeykey13
You're right, sorry not airknit. But edge material.
Mikeykey13
Low heat. I don't even see that as an option on the iron that I have. I might just pick up a steamer and give it a go.
Girouxsalem
I've used the iron over shirt technique on felt lettering and it came out fine. The shirt should take the brunt of the heat.
CJ Matthews
You think your jersey is bad, you should see my Beezer. I think I might need professional help flattening that one.
mfitz804
Easily ironed out with a towel between the number and iron. I have done that plenty of times.
