That was my point. I don't know how anybody expects to sell something on eBay when they pretty much admittedly state they know nothing about the item they're selling.

My dad trolls yard sales, auctions, junk shops, etc. and then flips stuff on eBay as a hobby. He knows nothing about the stuff he sells (at least at first, he learns as he goes along), but he sells stuff all the time.

Sometimes you just throw up some pictures and see what happens, eBay has enough users that generally the market will set its own price and you just need to sit back and relax.

I sold an 8,000 piece comic book collection that I knew nothing about in much the same manner.

What's with the arm numbers? Two different sizes? Those wacky Chicagoans. Always trying to be different.

Stupid deep-dish pizza and everything.

"With his babysitter" was the best part. Lol

Baby sister... not babysitter, lol.

I would rather say that this jersey is a 88-89 version instead of a 87-88 (as the seller states in the description). In 87-88 they used Airknit instead of Ultrafil. The only thing missing is the Custom Crafted logo. Edited by Silverback53

I missed bidding on this at the last few minutes. If anybody here won it, I'd be happy to trade something of mine for it.

Yeah, this seems super legit.

Guy seems to have a little bit of an issue actually shipping the junk he sells too.

I just laugh at some of these listings. For the uneducated masses, basically fight strap = real!

I've been wanting to ask this here for a while now, but what is the story on these? Obviously they are 100% counterfeit and I am not questioning their authenticity but rather, how does this guy have them made? When I first joined this forum 6 years ago I remember people talking about "griffenfood fakes" or something like that. I think what that meant was that they looked good to the eye, but were indeed fake. Is this what these jerseys are? Did they make their way back into the hobby? When you look at these initially they don't look half bad, which I think will kill the market for the real ones. Just blows my mind people take all of these steps to create fakes. The guy even lists them as "clones".

And by the way....wtf did "griffenfood" even stand for back then? haha

Simply put, there was indeed a seller by the name "Griffinfood". No idea what it meant. He started with Chinese knockoffs of mostly the 1992 Penguins jerseys. They were awful, and any hobbyist would know they were knockoffs, but unsuspecting ebayers would buy them in hopes of them being authentic. I too fell for one of those penguins jerseys, left a nasty, negative feedback (his was at 100% positive), and he instantly contacted me to make things right.

Eventually, he started listing other jerseys like Messier Canucks jerseys, Red Wings jerseys, and the list started to grow, but they were all knockoffs. He may have disappeared, but I'm sure he still does the same thing on eBay.

Listing them as "clones" is just a way of him covering his Arse if somebody calls him out that they are actually "counterfeit".
