atc117
Hi, I was hoping somebody could help me out with this 96-97 NY Islanders Wave jersey I have. I attached a couple of pics. It has the number 14 (which I looked up and found out Derek Armstrong wore that year), but it doesn't have a name on the back of the jersey. Does anybody know if this could be some kind of game worn jersey or it's just an authentic replica with just the numbers added? Any help would be greatly appreciated! LAK74
I would think it's not a gameworn, as the number font seems off to me, especially the 4. Here is a pic of Armstrong's 96/97 gamer (with the Fisherman crest) for comparison:
flyhighguys94
The font is definitely off compared to the gamer, however it is close. It's definitely an authentic, which still holds good value. It was probably customized with a nameplate that was no longer desired and was therefore stripped. You could always have an Armstrong plate made up and that would be a quick solution to having a complete jersey.
