The History of the Sens Jersey, 1992-2017 - Celebrating 25 Years!

So, I'd been working on 1994-2004, but I had to put it on the back burner temporarily, thankfully for good reason :D

Cool story: A jersey collector here in Kanata orders a book, and after receiving it, he emails me to thank me. He then offers his help for the Senators chapter of the next iteration, 1994-2004, telling me he might have a jersey or two that I could use. So we get to talking, and it turns out he owns every single style from the team's inaugural season, 1992, to present day.

It also turns out he's a member here (SensGameUsed) and he's a really nice guy. Over the past couple months Ryan and his family have graciously invited me into their home so that we could team up to bring you this -

There's still more that I haven't uploaded yet, but some samples on the site -

It's almost finalized, but there are still some logistics to figure out, like whether or not I'll have permission to use certain pictures from the Senators' original publications, whether or not I'll get a sneak peak at their upcoming jerseys/patch for 2016-17, and whether or not I'll be able to team up with the Sens at all in some way/shape/form.

And while I figure that stuff out, I'm still working on 1994-2004, and will be refocusing my full attention to getting it done sooner than later as well.

Which leads me to my next post.

The initial sales of the first book on IJ were great, the Halloween sale was surprisingly better than expected, and leading up to Christmas, well, xmas was a little overwhelming, but let’s just say I’m pretty happy it’s in the rearview mirror now, lol.

Anyways, I was originally thinking of having another sale in the new year, but then I thought it would be nice to be able to save some folks a few bucks, as well as give back to anyone who bought one of the first copies, so I figured I’d try a referral program.

It’s simple: Refer someone to pick up a book, send us an email with the person you referred along with your email for paypal, and we’ll send you $5, and we’ll refund the buyer $5.

You get some money back, they get some money back, and the most important part: it expedites any possibility of releasing the next iteration, 1994-2004.

Great job. I'm not as vested in the late 90's-2000's jerseys as this era, but I'm extremely excited for the next edition (already!), just to keep learning.

Love the book. Since I got into jersey collecting late I really hope you do more modern ones! You certainly have my support.

Received my copy today. Couldn’t have asked for a better more detailed book! I’ve learned some things in the first couple pages that I didn’t know this morning..The attention to details and the photos are amazing! Nothing short of spectacular. The only thing that could make it better is 2 more editions for 1994-2004, and 2005-2015!! Extremely well done!

Got my book and it's absolutely fantastic. Well done!

If you haven't ordered one yet, get on it!

Got mine the other day. It's awesome!! Everyone here should order one!!!!

Wow - Book is awesome. Clearly you put a lot of hard work into it and it shows.

SEQUEL! SEQUEL! SEQUEL!

Thanks Chris, the eagle has safely landed in Germany. Awesome book! Will recommend it to fellow collectors over here.

My book finally arrived. Like others have commented, the quality is excellent. Also, the book has much more content then I expected. Everyone who hasn't got one yet, needs to get atleast one, so that we get the volume 2!

For those who don’t know, this is 100% grassroots project - despite having “published” the book with a publisher, I’m the one who’s foot the bill. As of today, I’ve moved roughly 500 copies, and I’m still in the red from my initial investment. Which is fine, I’m not complaining or anything, and I actually expected less sales over the holidays…anyways, I digress.

Point being, unless I find a major publisher who wants to take me on and publish the next book, regardless of whether or not I’ve finished it, I won’t be able to release it until the remaining 500 copies of the first book are gone. Simply put, the sooner they go, the sooner you guys get your wish and 1994-2004 gets printed :)

How you can help:

- got an uncle, coworker, or buddy on your beer league team? Spread the word and let ‘em know: it makes a great gift for any hockey fan :D

Over the next couple weeks I’ll be posting and promoting. If you could please like/share/retweet, and even better, comment and let us know what you think of the book, it would certainly be appreciated.

And speaking of commenting, if you haven’t already, I’d still love to hear your feedback on the site regarding the fist book:

Every bit helps!

As an aside, I'd just like to thank everyone who's helped out, and all those who've offered to help out.

I've been getting a lot of emails and your support is really appreciated!

In that same vain, I get a lot of emails, lol. If I haven't responded to anyone, or it takes me a little while, please don't think I'm ignoring you...unless it's Mike. Mike, if you're reading this, I'm ignoring you.

And in case you're wondering which Mike, just to be safe, it's all of them.

Good night now :)

That Sens book looks really good man! I'm not the hugest Sens follower but I'd still buy a copy. Gotta support the cause!

Man, 25 years makes me feel old! As I recall, I was in the 7th or 8th grade when the Sens came to the NHL...

I went ahead and posted The Jersey Book kink on the NOT Game Worn Jersey Collectors Facebook page. Trying to spread the word. Hoping you burn through the remaining copies of the original book so we can see the 1994-2004 book sooner than later.

I have to say that is probably a good policy.

I have no interest in the Senators or their jerseys. Put me down for one copy!

What the hell is next Chris. A crappy book about the history of the Montreal Canadiens jersey? I'm gonna buy one of these because I like you and everything but God help me if you put out a Montreal one.

I'd say to do a devils one, but it would only be like half a page. Probably not worth much.

Yup, it would basically be the Devils portion of the previous book between two covers.

A Devils version of the jersey book would have more jerseys than copies sold.

Not if they put a Jagr gamer on the cover.
