Slovakia and Bulgaria played in the Womens Olympic qualifier and the game was a bit one-sided.

Apparantly Bulgaria has been on the wrong side of a few one-sided performances in the tourney.

I was reading about that ay work yesterday and told some non-hockey fan co-workers about it. All of them want to see video of it. I agree, but heck I'd settle for seeing stat sheet. It's got to be hilarious.

Thanks Laf for the stats ...

Now here's a question just for fun, if you had to get a jersey of one of the players from this game, who would it be (and why)?

With 10 goals scored on just 11 shots, Janka Culikova (17 pts) seems like the natural choice. However, it's hard to overlook Anna Dzurnakova who despite having 35 minutes in penalties, still managed 11 helpers and 3 goals. For me however, there's only one choice: Liubomira Shosheva who put up an impressive 57 saves (despite letting 77 in).

Another good question after looking at the stats sheets - what's the longest name you've ever seen on the back of a jersey?

Longest I've personally seen was DERHOHANNESIAN - a kid who played hockey at UK when I worked for the team.

Funny you should as that, as I have a photo of the longest name I've ever seen. Perhaps the fact it's hyphenated detracts from it a bit, but SAVILAHTI-NAGANDER is 18 characters with the dash.

Another one from the same tournament that blew my mind was GORYACHEVSKIKH, a goalie from Belarus, 14 letters.

And hold on tight anytime Kazakhstan comes to town. TROCHSHINSKIY, SAMOKHVALOV and YESSIRKENOV are an eyeful as well.

I wonder if it could ever get to the point where the name is so long that they stack the letters on top of each other? Especially in hypenated names cases.
