After 21 seasons Brendan Shanahan officially announced his retirement. I know there are some that still never forgave him for asking for a trade out of Hartford and others who didn't always like some of his comments. Personally I enjoyed his style of play (he holds the record for career "Gordie Howe hattricks") and his attitude on an off the ice. He was a player I admired even before he laced them up for my favorite team.

Little late, but that was a sad day for me... live in St. Louis, and Shanny is still a beloved former-Blue. Slightly off topic, but in case any hasn't seen, shop.nhl.com has Shanahan Rangers jersey (white, number 14) size XXL in the Outlet for $49.97. Got mine in the mail today (It Arrived Today!) and it's pretty nice, even for one of those awful Premiers...
