I shoot them on white and then use the brush tool in photoshop to paint out the background. Then I adjust the exposure of the jersey to make it as bright as possible without losing detail. Takes a few minutes, but looks nice on my blog and I'm too far down the path of shooting them on white to start over with the size of my collection. It also allows me to draw photos from multiple sources and make them all look similar, which is nice.

Still, if I were starting over shooting my jerseys just to document them, I'd have chosen a more midrange background, like grey seamless, beige carpet or wood flooring, so my initial captures with my camera would be better exposures. To make a long story short, all cameras try to make photos average out to grey, assuming an equal amount of black and white elements in each scene. Entirely white scenes, like my jerseys on white seamless or shots done outdoors in the snow, are always underexposed to achieve an average of grey for the photo.

When I shoot stuff to sell on ebay, I just put it on the wood floor to make life easier.

Alright. Thank you again for sharing.

haha.. I dont think theyre crappy.. I just like sewn on stuff.. and the jerseys stretch like my girlfriends workout shorts... but overall I like them.. I miss the old hockey jerseys pre lockout.. in all leagues..

IIHF's mission was to come here and make us start buying international jerseys so he can sell them for higher prices to us.

He's succeeded.

I love the Leafs and the Av's jersey. You should send me that Wings jersey so I can check the oil in my car. J/K.

Kind of neat... One question....Why would they keep the "FC" logo? Futbol Club...and there is a soccer ball too. They might had thought to modify the graphics a little. Still agreat find.

One of my all time goals has been a Gretzky jersey. Can't get Oilers (Flames fan) or Kings (Coyotes fan) so went with NYR

Anyone know what this patch inside the hem means?

That's a classic fake. The Set tag is a fake as is the starter mesh. I don't want to be an Arse but its certainly a fake.

The NHL shield is wrong too

The Gretzky double-tagged Starter blue Rangers jerseys were some of the most common fakes prior to the recent flood of Edge style fakes.

As discussed previously, some of the key issues showing it's a fake are:

1) The set tag on the hem is a big giveaway. Set tags are used to denote a game-worn jersey. These were also common on the early fake Edge jerseys like the Pens Winter Classic jerseys.

2) The neck tagging and sizing don't match Starter style authentic jerseys. Starters were sized as "52-R" or "56-G" etc. and featured a large white tag with the size. See pic below.

3) The numbers and letters are not twill and are not zig-zag stitched.

4) The colors of the jersey are off. Hard to tell unless you put it next to a legit Starter Rangers mesh jersey, but the blue appears more cyan and the red a bit more magenta.

5) The diagonal RANGERS lettering on the chest is wrong - the font is off (see the G and S especially) and the angle is off. Compare with the jersey below.

Here's a legit Starter blue Rangers jersey.

I think Gretzky didn't have a size tag in his jersey, he had a patch with his name on it instead. The lettering on the fake jersey is not twill but it's an embroidered zig-zag stitch.

1988 NHL All-Star Game Mario Lemieux jersey. Lemeiux scored three goals and three assists, including the game winner in overtime. His six points broke the previous record for points an an All-Star Game and still stands today. Not surprizingly, Lemeiux was named the game's MVP.

Changed my mind on this one from Lecavalier to...

EPS is just too slow getting the order correctly. Lecavlier kit was before christmas 2009.

Is the Tampa Bay jersey a game issue? (lack of inside "NHL Centre Ice" tagging?) All in all, very nice jerseys.

Thank you very much!

1) I thought having the set tag was unusual - and 50/50 doubted it at that point (but that little voice in my head was going 'maybe...maybe'). I also wanted to make sure my understanding of what a set tag is was correct.

2) There is a size tag, but its plain black and just says 52. There is also a patch just below the neck saying 'Greztky'

I think Gretzky didn't have a size tag in his jersey, he had a patch with his name on it instead. The lettering on the fake jersey is not twill but it's an embroidered zig-zag stitch.

However still having the black sizing tag in there...dang

4) I can see the color difference a bit now - some might be the photos but even looking at the jersey I can see it

5) The Rangers difference is quite subtle (until I put the pics side by side).

###### looks like I got tricked. The good news is I'm not out a lot of money and still have a Gretzky - just now become a jersey to wear until I can afford a real Gretky authentic.

Thanks for all the help tho!

Doubt you are ever going to, but if you sell the Stamkos can you keep me in mind? I tried to buy and edge jersey last year of him and it was a fake :(

those look great. I'm jealous of the Pro Player authentic, I've been looking for one of those forever and had given up on their existence.

Thank you for the great feedback. The Tampa Bay is a team issued 2.0 jersey and that's going to stay with me. The Pro Player AVS was really hard to find, especially the road jersey. I was lucky to get it in a trade for a Starter one customised with Sakic.
