Does anyone know what the maximum player salary is under the cap? During 05-06 I thought it was 8 mil and now players are getting $9 & $10 per year.

No player is allowed to make more than 20% of the team cap. Jaromir Jagr was the initial exception to this rule as he made more than 20% of the original cap prior to the cap being implemented so he was grandfathered into it. So the player cap should be $10.06 million a year for this years cap.
