    third jerseys are back

Here's another photo I found that drives home the vest comment: The sleeves are just so bland - which wouldn't be a problem if the numbers were on the sleeves, but they aren't.

https://www.nhl.com/penguins/news/penguins-third-jerseys/c-300776158 https://twitter.com/penguins/status/1049672215816495105 Interesting. I was hoping they'd go with a "Sunday Gold" ...which they kind of did. I'm digging the numbers on the shoulder, just wish they would have rounded out the shoulders farther down towards the elbow like on the older jerseys. There feels to be too much black up past the elbow. Also not sure if I dig the single layer "C" and "A"...but that's minor. One bonus is moving away from that hideous thin collar of the home/away.

    Accuracy/Quality quandary

Yea, if you don't want the 87-88 jersey, then I'd trade it to someone for an ultrafil model from the next season like @furiousd suggested. The rarity of that 87-88 jersey is enough to completely offset the value of an ultrafil model and still get value back on top of it. At least if it were blank and/or customized correctly. Even though they are cheaper constructed jerseys due to air knit, the screened crest & vinyl letter kit, they are so rare to find that it would be a shame to see it get ripped apart. As for the gold toe crest - even if you were to find one, it wouldn't completely cover the screened-on crest that's on there now. I just checked with the two I have. The screened-on crest is different enough that it is decently taller than the gold toe one. If nothing else, just leave the customization job as-is currently like you already suggested.

This isn't an exaggeration, either. I've been looking for a Badger Bob patch for almost exactly 10 years to put on my home jersey. Still nothing. I'm willing to pay a crap load for it, and no one even has one available for me to throw money at. There's a guy I work with that I think has one, though. He wore his jersey to work a year or two ago and I did a freakin' quadruple-take as he walked by, but I never saw him again to verify. He's also never worn it again since. Might be my only chance if I ever have the opportunity to ask him about it without sounding like a crazy person. LOL I have found this, which is one of the best repros I've seen, at least when it comes to matching the font on the authentic...but it's a little bit smaller than an actual original patch, and the color is a little off. BUT, if you don't have a better option, it might be a pretty good replacement if you never find a real one. That's what I plan on using until/if I do. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pittsburgh-Penguins-Iron-On-Patch-4-x-2/223113514890?hash=item33f29a0f8a:g:IxcAAOSwyohbffnV I've been extremely lucky finding a few original 25th patches and cup patches, but boy does Badger elude me. So disappointing.

    Nameplates Needed

Found a black ultrafil jersey with no crest available for around $20 for anyone that needs a lot of material! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Pittsburgh-Penguins-Jersey-Blank-CCM-90-s-Rare/273336562746?hash=item3fa420f43a:g:8qwAAOSwo8pbO9Tv

Try sending a message to Jersey Baron. I got mine from him quite a while ago.

Anyone have any need for the blue on this Rockies Cooper jersey? I bought it for the white material. The blue is tall enough both across the arms and the waist to probably get a name plate. Ranges from 3.5" to 3.75" https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hockey-Jersey-Colorado-Rockies-Blank-Adult-M-Cooper/382016513170?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Intentionally? No, I don't think so. But from patch to patch you'll find ever so slight variations just from the production process. About the only major difference from patch to patch that you'll see is the thickness of the "CHAMPIONSHIP" text at the bottom. Everything else is within a range of expected variation. Even the patches for each team are slightly different from patch to patch. 13. A lot of people try to stretch out a birthday week, or even a birthday month. Somehow you ended up with a birthday quarter. Dayum.

Awe man...totally missed that one! I was at the casino for the first time ever right around when this message got posted. Not only did I walk out of there at a loss, I missed that sweet gold toe.
