    It arrived today v. 8.0

Yeah, I had high hopes, I got it at $175 I'd say in it's overall condition it's probably not worth $100

The double elbows and gussets are there. It's a legit jersey in every way Just odd there is NO sign of a fight strap, the overall condition of the jersey tells me they didn't know much about jerseys and wouldn't have known how to removed the strap and hold down for the strap without jacking up the rest of the jersey (sorry, forgot the NO part)

So I took a chance on this one. I hoped to test my skills on trying to salvage something really bad but this one is out of my league. One thing I didn't pick up in the listing is that it's missing a fight strap and there's no sign there ever was one. The seller is cool and preferred to return it for a full refund rather than try and work out a partial refund. When they re-list it I hope they add notes that there are a few holes in the sleeves (about the size of two M&M's), burns on the elbows and no fight strap. If anyone here gives it a go I wish you luck https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Doug-Gilmour-Toronto-Maple-Leafs-CCM-Maska-Authentic-Jersey-Size-54/323436194649?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

    eBay version 4.0

Oh, I'm not saying that at all. I started out with metal but when it turned into all that hail Satan stuff I turned to punk (Satan scares me) I just thought I was the only old punker on here. Good on ya' Mikey!

I thought you were more metal? Isn't AO more punk?

Sweet! I thought it was only me
  8. Didn't know where else to put this and I haven't seen it talked about from my search As I scrounge eBay for the next deal, I always come across a Ducks Wild Wing / Burger King jersey that are asking crazy prices for replica jerseys. There seems to be an abundance and people still pay top dollar. My question, why are they high priced yet the Salmon Canucks replica or the Rangers TBTC replicas (among others) not going for crazy $? I see less Nucks/Rags alt replicas than I do of the Wild Wing / Burger King and they seem to be equally impossible to find in an authentic. Is there like a Scientist guy that influences people to get all hopped up for one replica but not the other? This concludes the Deep Thoughts portion of our programming

    The feedback thread

I imagine the Rangers and Habs would be the hardest to source because they look very similar to the current jersey at the time. I could see fans saying "Meh, it looks just like the one I already have" for those two and passing on spending the extra $ The Leafs looks similar to the design they wore the following year and I imagine something new would be grabbed up quickly so I don't understand why there isn't an abundance. Maybe they're clinging to them -or- maybe they've shredded them out of frustration.

Thanks Do you have the All Star jerseys too? I can't believe I found them before the Habs, when you snagged that one so cheap I about fell outta my chair.

    The feedback thread

I finally was able to complete my collection of TBTC's thanks to the help from a few members, True North Hockey for selling it, and the heads up from Steve & Matt Hawks2797 when it came up. Phew! That took a long time to find a Montreal TBTC. Cheers!

    It is good or not?

To me it looks like a borrowed pic, there is no size given, and the description looks copied and pasted with errors. I'm steering clear.

Does this seem fishy to anyone else? https://www.ebay.com/itm/NHL-BLACKHAWKS-Authentic-Jersey/183407602658?hash=item2ab3f1ebe2:g:oGoAAOSwS9BbiF9D

Thinking long term about my collection...

So, I have been collecting for a few years and all my friends / family think I am nuts. I have turned another friend on to collecting and his wife wants to strangle me. If he and I are out and we talk about jerseys or something we saw pop up on E-bay there is a collective groan from the group usually followed up with a "Here we go again"... I don't have any kids (and thinking I don't want one at this stage in the game) Just wondering, have any of you thought about what you will eventually do with your collection? Are you going to sell it, leave it in a Will to someone, take it to the grave with you? I have thought about leaving them to the IJ board in some demented raffle when I am on my deathbed but life throws curveballs and ya never know when yer number is up. I guess this is inspired from the estate sales I see popping up on E-bay http://www.ebay.com/sch/sfv1962/m.html?item=270935256389&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&_trksid=p4340.l2562 I'd hate to see some of my gems go for next to nothing because my family didn't care or didn't know what they were worth.

Thinking long term about my collection...

Haha! Love it! Don't we already have a thread dedicated to music, maybe we should start a VCR thread. The music stuff tends to bleed into every thread. Man, the price of shipping VCR's these days! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-PV-V4520-VHS-4-Head-Hi-Fi-Stereo-VCR-with-Remote/132723237211?epid=66723444&hash=item1ee6ebe15b:g:OY8AAOSwk6hbXOOz:sc:USPSPriority!60101!US!-1

I don't earn the "Baron" title until after retirement or I reach 1000 jerseys - you'll have to wait

Thinking long term about my collection...

My whole purpose of starting the thread was just for fun, I know it's crazy how many I have but I guess I'm of the mindset of quantity over quality for most of my stuff. I figure when I retire and the big block CCM's dry up I will be the new Jersey Baron of old stock! Glad to hear of the new collectors starting up and I hope to one day sell everyone their "grail" at a reasonable markup That said, I would like to open my small unkempt townhouse to 10 people to come in and help photo log my current collection as it has gotten out of hand. Participants must pass a background check, be ok with cats (no allergies) and be willing to submit to a pat down upon departure, (I like to be thorough if ya know what I mean) Cheap beer and pizza will be provided Applications will be reviewed by my cats Ed and Gary, please be patient as it's hard for them to type without opposable thumbs

Thinking long term about my collection...

I don't have a count on only Hawks but they fill 3.5 48gal bins Not looking to move anything if that's your next question Whenever I disclose what I have I get a lot of PM's Us hoarders need professional help to pry items out of our hands One day I plan on selling a lot off - my origional intent was to get all the jerseys from the 91 season with the 75th patch but there are so many Alts that I gotta have just because they are beautiful. Still need a Montreal TBTC if anyone has one

I have a good mix of pristine authentics to beat up worn and torn and everything in between I hoard and rarely sell I have a problems

Thinking long term about my collection...

It was fun re-reading all the comments but I still think this was the funniest one Odd to see so many names that I don't see on here anymore but then again there are quite a few that have stood the test of time. My collections has grown from 200 to 500+ so I guess I didn't learn anything from my own post.

    Alternate jersey ponderings

I like his disclamer how he had it "sent off to a Hockey shop up North" Well, that settles it, I'm convinced now

    It is good or not?

I have a few with a hole punched in the NHL badge, They were factory screw ups / something didn't measure correct They sold them off somewhere at a discount The ones I have I can't find anything wrong with them but my eye isn't as sharp as the ones who put them all together
