    The Patch Thread 2.0

Hello, Does anyone have any original Stan Mikita #21 memorial patches left and available for sale? Please let me know. Thanks!

Help on WHO TO PUT ON THIS!

Cool! Thanks for the help guys! With the single layer, it makes sense that the Stars would glue down their numbers, huh? I think I'm just going to leave the Stars one as is. I can live with Goligoski. He played 82 games in that season, plus his name is cool. It just rolls off the tongue (teed up for you mfitz). Dean Kukan however, I think I'm going to turn that one into a Cam Atkinson provided the numbers aren't too glued down. Anyone have any experience stripping a CBJ alternate? Thanks!

Help on WHO TO PUT ON THIS!

I recently pick up these 2 jerseys and need some advice on what to do with them. I had originally intended to strip them and put on more recognizable players, but now I am having second thoughts. I don't follow either team, but I am hoping at some point to pick up at least one jersey from each NHL team,. Plus, I like the green color on the Dallas jersey and the crest on the CBJ one. So, should I stand pat with both of these or change out the players? If I decide to change them out, which players should I put on these? Both are 2015-16 TIs. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for your help!

    It arrived today v. 8.0

Recent pickups from the Sharks end of season used equipment sale. I hope to turn the road one into an Evander Kane and the home one into a Tomas Hertl. Has anyone used Action Spot Sports before? They are listed on this forum as the Sharks current team customizer. Just wondering if they are the appropriate shop with which to send in my jerseys. Thanks!

    It is good or not?

Yeah, I guess it boils down to who you want to put on the jersey, huh? I find the sizing to be pretty consistent between the Russell and Majestic jerseys. I wear a size 48 for both Majestic and Russell for example (I wear a size 52 Reebok 2.0 hockey jersey though for comparison, so there's a bit of a difference for me between my baseball and hockey jersey sizes). The Majestic "Cool Base" jerseys don't necessarily fit any tighter than the double knits, but they don't hide body type shortcomings as well as the double knits do. Let's just say, the cool base jerseys are designed for professional athlete body types. However, the TBTC jersey you are looking at and the original Russell jerseys are both the double knit type, so you won't have to worry about the cool base fabric in either case.

    It is good or not?

The Cubs jersey looks good to me and the seller is good. I've bought several jerseys from him over the years. Alternatively, original 1994-96 Russell Athletic jerseys of this kind pop up on eBay from time to time. So, you might be able to get a cheaper blank in the future. Good luck!

    Top 5 jerseys

    1. The Chicago Blackhawks have the best looking jerseys in all of sports. 2. The St. Louis Cardinals with the chain stitched Birds on the Bat jerseys are amazing. 3. The unchanged look of the New York Yankees jerseys are classic. 4. The powered blue San Diego Chargers look great especially when paired with the throwback numbered helmets. 5. The original San Jose Sharks jersey was the first jersey I ever owned. A replica CCM picked up in ‘91 when I was 15. I wore that jersey to ever game I went to for about 17 years until it wore out. Then I found out about authentic jerseys when trying to replace it. I’ve been hooked ever since. 😀 Honorable mention to the home town teams. The scarlet 49ers 80’s and current jerseys are great. I’m not sure why they went with cardinal red in the 2000s. I also love the blue Warriors jerseys with the bridge crest. The Adidas versions with the mesh numbers and sans advertisements in particular.

Does anyone have an original 1997 All-Star game patch? I could also use the corresponding Sharks logo shoulder patch from that game. Thanks for any help.

    Dealing with Jersey Baron

When 10K comes around, you'll have to try and make that one a "that's what she said" comment.

I mean like he is giving up on ever having MICs.

    Dealing with Jersey Baron

Good points! I was just thinking that in order to keep his jersey business current, he might need to start adding more and more Adidas products. Which at this time at least at retail are the Indos. I'm worried that this might lessen any impetus to push them for MICs. Hey, mfitz, was that just your 9000th post? Congrats!

    Dealing with Jersey Baron

Nooooooooooo! I saw today that JB has Made in Indonesia Blackhawks and Bruins Winter Classic jerseys in his eBay store (he calls them reproductions). I thought he would hold out against the Indos. Hopefully, this is not a sign of things to come, as I was hoping he would eventually use his connections to find a way to get some MIC jerseys for us all.

I tend to think of in the same lines as having one's old school jersey accurately customized. For example, you send in your blank jersey that was manufactured in 1999 to be customized to 1998-99 team specs, so that it looks exactly like what the players wore on the ice in that time period. Unfortunately, the customizer isn't going to be able to use original 1999 materials for the numbers and nameplates, so technically reproductions. Same goes for the patches. Modern materials reproduced to look like the originals from years gone by. However, with the patches compared with the numbers and nameplates, it seems like it is harder to reproduce the originals 100%, because the manufacturers are now using modernized equipment and techniques. At least for me, the best I can hope for and try to accomplish is for the overall look of the finished jersey to match the original as closely as possible.

OK great! Yes, please let me know if you come across one. Thanks for your help and advice JJM4. I just started looking, so I'll be patient and keep searching on my end too for awhile and see what comes up.

Does anyone have a line on a 1999 Stanley Cup Finals patch? I'd prefer an original (if they are even available) but an accurate repro is fine. The one from Patch Collection looks pretty good to me (see below as pictured in their listing for $14.95 USD) but I'm worried about not getting this patch from them. I think sometimes they have originals pictured, but when the patch comes, it's a not so good repro. Thanks for any help.
