ZoomZoom18 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Share Posted March 6, 2008 Rumors around the 'Burgh are that Lemieux and company pressed GM Ray Shero into picking up a scoring winger for Sid for when he gets back, and not to worry about money. Ownership had previously had their own cap about 10 mil below the NHL cap, so it seems like they are finally willing to spend a little while we can keep Sid, Malkin, Staal, Whitney, and Fleury all here. That's good to hear then if that's the case, I'd like to see them be able to keep Marian. I had read on one of the boards (I think CNNSI.com) that the Pens didn't have the money to resign Marian with Malkin coming up for free agency next year. With them battling for top spot in the East and the future they have there, I'd hate to see them have to break it up or go the route that Tampa Bay did.
