Wow that is certainly one screwup we don't often see.

Here's another strange one. Apparently, it seems that the Caps hadn't abandoned red entirely for at least some point in time between 1995 and 2007, and that you could proudly reclaim the color red on your very own black "screaming eagle" jersey and even have a screened-on number 5. I was thinking maybe they were going to use these for the lockout season and this one was some kind of a prototype, but by then the Caps black jerseys were Koho (on-ice) and while there were some replicas with CCM tagging that I've still seen floating about on Ebay even now [before the lockout], they were already neck-tagging rather than hem-tagging by then as well, and of course after the lockout they had switched all jerseys to the Reebok vector neck-tag. Anyone ever seen one of these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270560750310

That is a Senators jersey with a screened on eagle - weird looking jerseys like this can often be from junior teams, etc.

Take a look at this junk:

http://cgi.ebay.com/JAROMIR-JAGR-PITTSBURGH-PENGUINS-HOME-WHITE-JERSEY-L_W0QQitemZ350341502661QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU_Hockey_Fan_Shop?hash=item5191fb16c5

It even has the NHLPA logo on the lower right corner of the "8" on the back.

In my opinion, it's a bad make of a football jersey.

I believe that is the equivalent of today's "player t-shirt" from Logo Athletic. I don't think it was ever intended to be a jersey necessarily.

Here's an idea, let's just pick some random font and throw it on a jersey. It can't look that bad right?

I actually verbally, out loud said, "Ah!" when I opened the auction. Yikes.

Wow who thought this up? My first thought after "Old Time Western" is either that or they found some font from a baseball uniform, like the Red Sox use for the words "Boston" or "Red Sox" on the front, and then accentuated it even more.

For the record, my comment about liking the "Old Time Western" font was meant to be sarcastic. I don't think that style of font belongs on a hockey jersey unless it's a minor league specialty-night style.

It reminds me of a Chicago White Sox jersey, one of the old black ones from the late 70's...

How did they get the numbers sublimated like a tackla jersey on that CCM replica?

That's what I was about to ask.....I'd like to know as a I have a couple of Tacklas that I'd love to get done with the dye sublimation

I don't think those are dyed in. That looks like a heat-pressed kit to me. That's a lot easier to have done than the dying. I'm in the market for a dye-job too actually.

Back in the 90's I was looking for the "drop shadow" tackla style numbers but I could only find them in the 8-10 inch heat pressed size... I went to a sporting goods store that does silk screening and they pulled the numbers up on a their computer and made a screen print on the back of the jersey. Mind you its not Dye sublimated but the numbers are as nice today as they were the day I picked up the jersey. I know its not an exact customization job but I was happy with it. It looked fine to me and nobody knew the difference.

Those are felt numbers and letters, flock lettering.

Not all of them had felt numbers....My WC Andrei Lomakin has sublimated numbers and sublimated letters on an actual nameplate. My DDR East Germany national jersey has (If I remember)sublimated numbers and felt letters on a nameplate. There were many different ways.

My Tackla Canada gamer has the same type of felt numbering actually. It's only the numbers though(back only; no sleeves). The name is dyed into the nameplate.

We knew Ovie was great but just didn't realize how great he was! He played for the Soviet National team at age 6 ! He skated on the same line with Fedorov !

Don't believe me? here's proof....
