Today is Free Agent day, where are the big names gonna end up?

Mirtle's got a great live blog up right now of all the signings.

Huet to Chi-town huge, Leaves overpaying again, trades galore and Detroit somehow getting Ty for cheap. What a day so far!

The Lightning have now signed Kolzig:

As well as the Pens' Adam Hall.

The Caps then turned around and signed Jose Theodore to replace Kolzig.

The Pens have resigned Eaton and Dupuis. Let's see if the remainder of the Hossa deal stays in Pittsburgh....

The Pens should have tried harder for Ty, if they even tried at all.

Anyone gonna take advantage of the $39 customization on new jersey purchases that icejerseys is offering?

if I could get that deal on jerseys I send in to IJ for customization, I'd send them 10 jerseys right now ... heck even if it was $50 a jersey I'd send them atleast 10 to be customized right now.

Rolston heads back to Jersey.

The Wild really, really dropped the ball letting him get away with pretty much no prospects for replacing him with a player of equal talent and leadership.

This was so avoidable it's not funny.

TSN is reporting than Marian Hossa signed a one-year deal with Detroit for $7.4 million. Assuming its true, Detroit is looking to be pretty scary next year. :(

Geez, why even play the season? Just engrave the cup for 2008 & 2009 and get it done with.

Well at least the Pens signed someone today...

Orpik for six years:

Well they did also sign that Malkin guy. 5 years, averaging 8.7 million a year.

Also Zherdev dealt to the Rangers, hope the move helps wake him up, he is one of those players that has the talent but just hasn't put it all together at the NHL level.

That sounds like what I always heard about Alexei Kovalev before his breakout years with the Pens.

I thought the same thing, if Zherdev is the next Kovalev. What always killed me is that he began to live up to his potential with the Pens, so the Rangers got him back - only to have him slump again. Now he's a super-star for the Habs.

I meant in terms of free agents.

And so far, there's a lot less action today it seems...

Hopefully it picks up this afternoon!
