Heatley requests trade

Recommended Posts

Well I admit, I was one who figured when Heatley had enough of San Jose that he would demand a trade and play those silly NTC "I don't want to go there" games again. Well it appears that if he demands a trade, San Jose doesn't have to consult him. When he was dealt to the Sharks, it voided the remainder of his NTC.

"Heatley’s infamous no-trade clause that got him out of Ottawa is no longer valid; that much was confirmed exclusively to The Hockey News for our most recent cover story"

If Heatley can't be happy playing with Thornton he won't be happy anywhere. And he's playing in California, what is there not to like? Well, aside from the superfluous orange on the uniforms...
