Fake.

Hey, thanks for the opinion... If you don't mind me asking, what about the jersey indicates that its fake - what should i look for when purchasing a jersey in the future?

There is a great tutorial in the jersey How-To section here:

http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=2412

After you start collecting for awhile, it becomes very easy to spot the fakes!

Here's the real thing, so you can compare real vs. fake: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KEITH-Rbk-EDGE-7187-Chicago-Blackhawks-NEW-3rd-Alternate-Jersey-52-/330738134475?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item4d01876dcb

My first checkpoints on a jersey are always the fight strap, crest and tags to see if it is a fake. Once you know what those look like on the real thing, the fakes jump out pretty quickly.

alright, sorry to keep bothering everyone, but is this one legit?? a good amount of people on the Blackhawks forum trust hockeyjerseyoutlet and say they only sell legit jerseys, but i just wanna be careful.

I'm the second newest newbie here. But I've been looking for an authentic Blackhawks Edge jersey. The easiest ways to tell with the Blackhawks, in my month of learning about this, are as follows:

1) When you see the jersey inside out, the black and white stripes on the bottom are actually printed on the real ones, and tend to be sewn together on the fakes

2) The Tomahawks on the shoulders are embroidered in a traditional "back and forth" embroidery on the fakes, but are layered in kind of a chain stitich on the real ones such that one green stick is on top of the other which is on top of the "C."

3) The fight strap is attached on a fake one with a thin "X" stitched into the middle of the piece that holds the strap to the jersey. On the real one, there is an "X" as well, but it is a stronger zigzag stitching. Also the fakes sometimes have a flap of fabric that is not secured at the edges holding the fight strap.

4) The Indian Head embroidery on a real one is very evident on the black part of the headdress. It is very three dimensional, rather than being a black vinyl patch with gold embroidery.

There are a zillion other "tells," but for a newcomer like me, those are generally the easiest to spot in pictures.

If I have any of this wrong, please let me know!

PS - I was responding to this post:

"Yay or nay please?

Yes, all their stuff is legit.

The Canucks did a "fight the fake" campaign. The examples translate to other teams' sweaters. A lot of the Canucks, Flyers, and Preds (new gold) fakes are way off on the color.

Look at the fight strap, especially the connection point to the fake Kane jersey on ebay. The NHL shield at the collar looks embroidered rather than a sewn patch. The hang tags on the sleeve are bad as well. It also has a poorly done Reebok tag sewn inside the collar, the Reebok band inside the collar is bad, and what appears to be an embroidered vector on the back.

OK, I'm pretty darn sure this is real, and I just bought it. :o The one thing I haven't seen before is that there is no Reebok tag on the inside collar. Can someone confirm that this is a real Edge? There is a tag on the inside of the bottom of the jersey which shows it being 7231A with 09/11 date. Here's pics.post-10249-0-77567000-1369427444_thumb.jpost-10249-0-86659700-1369427456_thumb.j

Looks like a legit Indo. 7231 is Reebok model for Indo-edges. The green band inside the neck, white cover on the fight strap attachment, and the difference in materials between the Edges (7187 or 7287) are giveaways.

Anyone know why Game on Sports told me that I have to Dry Clean my jerseys before they can embroider them?

I then went to Jersey City to get the customization done, and they're gonna do it, but for some reason they said they do not sew down the team logo on replicas or anything else that needs to be sewn down like an authentic.

But the dry clean bit really got me.

Not sure if this would be the right topic, but I was just wondering about pricing of jerseys. Before joining here, I bought a replica jersey customized for $200, but I see you can even get an authentic for that price if you were patient. Does anyone know how much a customized 2001 all star jersey customized replica jersey should cost roughly?

There have been a few replicas on ebay over the past few months that have been as low as $25 BIN. With customizing at DA, you're looking at about $100 for jersey and name/number. You still have to get the shoulder patches, too. Probably $25 - $30 for those. With shipping both ways (if you have to ship) and patches you're about at $150. They aren't always that cheap, but you can get one for around $40 to $50 with a little patience.
