Ok I have a weird question about jerseys and NHL memorabilia in general.

My friend insists that Sidney Crosby greedily gets a percentage of the profit of all his merchandise (specifically jerseys). Is this true? I insisted that it's not true, or that if it is, it's true for all the players, not just Crosby.

My friend says that because of this, it's much more expensive to get a Crosby jersey embroidered.

Also, insists that Crosby jerseys sell for much for than other jerseys, though I've found on Ebay at least that isn't necessarily true.

I believe your friend is wrong. Merchandise revenue either goes to the NHL (and goes through revenue sharing) or directly to the team depending on the type of sale. Crosby wouldn't be entitled to profits from his jersey sales. He can (and probably does) charge more for autograph signings, appearances, and such, but official NHL merchandise isn't his domain.

One weird Crosby quirk that I have heard is that he doesn't sign generally hockey cards with other players. At least as of June 2012, the only players he had signed with on a card were Gretzky in his rookie season and just five total cards with Lemieux. I had heard this before and Google confirms according to the Upper Deck blog. Typically Crosby "dual autograph" cards feature himself, which is kind of amusing:

Definitely not correct. It doesn't cost anymore than any other Penguin player to get customized as Crosby (I only say Penguins because some places may charge more on Penguin players simply because of glacier twill, but I don't even think that's the case).

However, the next couple posts about him not signing hockey cards with other players on them is categorically douchey. Haha, just when I thought he couldn't be more of a diva.

Ok. Seeing a couple different styles of the USA Olympic jerseys popping up on eBay and wanted some help to identify which ones are good.

1. http://m.ebay.com/itm/191031792545

Has the phrase on inside neck

2. http://m.ebay.com/itm/141162220718?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1

No writing on inside of jersey "land of the free, home of the brave", no nike size tag.

Are there different replica versions or am I missing something?

First one is good. second is a fake. be careful.

The dual crosby autographed card.. He didn't sign the card twice. You can superimpose the two autographs over one another and it wouldn't be out of line.

Upon second look, that particular card I linked may be a mock up. There are definitely real cards out there with two Crosby signatures. They're easy to spot on eBay:

Crosby has had dual signature cards out all the way back to his rookie season. The first one I can remember was the rookie inspirations cards from 05-06. Basically the card would feature the signature of a rookie and the signature of the player that rookie inspired to be so Ovechkin was matched with Kovalchuk, Jeff Carter with Joe Thornton, Richards with Modano, etc. Sid the kids card had his signature and instead of another players signature the following was written in by Sid "2005 #1 pick".

Can anybody tell me if this is legit or not?

http://www.77customnfljerseys.com/reebok-dallas-stars-customized-white-men-nhl-jersey-p-918.html

I'm new to this and I'm struggling to find this jersey anywhere else. However this site does not seem too reliable.

I also found it here: http://www.hockeymonkey.com/rbk-hockey-jersey-edge-premier-dal.html

Hockey Monkey seems a lot more reliable.

HockeyMonkey is as legit as it gets, so you should have no worries about using them.

They do have restocking fees that kick in after 14 days, so if you think there is any chance you may return the item, do it quickly after receiving it

That first site is definitely not legit.
