OR68
Those looks like fakes. Also the tie on the coyotes looks too long.

gz1987
What should i look for when looking for a legit Leafs jersey? anyone gotta pic showing real/fake? thanks
Cygnus X-1
Here are some general things to look for when trying to spot a fake: -shiny/puffy numbers and crests -incorrect colors -a tie collar where the strings are as long as shoelaces -an incorrectly shaped NHL shield -a fight strap that looks off in material or how it is attached to the jersey These are general things and can be hard to discern sometimes from pics on the interweb....but it's a good idea to become familiar with what an authentic actually looks like (or have some pics handy to compare). And most helpful: posting the shirt in question in the Is It Good or Not? thread on these boards.

LAK74
Almost certainly fake. Replica tag, no reason to have a Made in Canada size tag since replicas are made in Indonesia.

gz1987
another quick question sorry, so the jerseys at sportchek are they authentic to because even they say - Exclusive NHL Premier Jersey engineered and constructed to duplicate the look of the on-ice team designs. if i buy the leafs winter classic from sportschek with no player name on it or number is it still considered real? http://www.sportchek.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=13265275&cp=3733354.4206811.30407516
akteon
SportChek is a legit retailer. The jersey you linked is a replica jersey. We tend to use the word "authentic" to mean an on-ice authentic jersey close to what the players wear on the ice, which is a step up from the replica jersey. Theyauthentic jerseys have fight straps, reinforced shoulders and double elbows, and use numeric sizing (like 46,52,56). The replicas use alpha sizing (M, L, XL) and usually are lighter weight, and will often have screen printed crests/patches. Both replica and authentic jerseys would be considered "real" as in not fake. Fake jerseys are counterfeit jerseys made overseas that are made of cheap materials and lack a lot of the quality of the real jerseys. Normally fake/counterfeit jerseys are based on the authentic jerseys instead of replicas and will have fight straps etc. but made of poor quality materials and stitching. dorn24
Can anyone tell me from these pictures on this if this jersey is authentic or fake? I don't know if CCM made authentic jerseys with this tag. It says made in the US and I didn't know if the authentics were only made in Canada during this time period. This looks like a 90's CCM jersey. Anyone imput would be appreciated.

OR68
Jersey is legit looking by the strap and double elbows. The center ice tag was used during the mid 90's.
LAK74
Everything about the jersey (crest, tags, logos) makes it look like a legit ultrafil Hawks made between 1991 to around 1994. I've seen similar-looking CCM wash tags used on jerseys in the 1980's; maybe they just used a leftover one in this jersey. But despite the tag, the jersey still looks perfectly good to me. dorn24
Thanks for your imput guys. The reason I was asking is because I just picked up a jersey with the same exact tags only it is a Mighty Ducks jersey. I wasn't sure about the tag because other than this Blackhawks jersey and my Mighty Ducks jersey I haven't seen the made in the US tag. I am not a jersey expert though so I haven't looked at a lot of Jerseys with this tag. I have a Minnesota North Stars jersey from this time period and it has the Maska Ultrafil tag. Side by side the jerseys look the same and the fabric is ultrafil on the Ducks jersey. Any other imput on the tags would be appreciated. I always enjoy learning new info about authentics. One more question about authentics. I was looking for a Minnesota North Stars jersey from the years 89-90 or 90-91. Basically the jersey before their final jerseys in Minnesota (I already have the final jersey before they moved to Dallas). Does anyone know if CCM put in the size tags during this time period? I have seen some on Ebay that have a hand written number on the tag either because the tag fell off or they didn't come with one. Thanks again guys. I have seen some on Ebay that have a hand written number on the tag either because the tag fell off or they didn't come with one. The North Stars jerseys you're looking for would not have a size tag; generally the size was written in ball point pen on the Maska tag. The small square size tags were introduced on the 1991-92 season jerseys.

Just out of curiosity, what is the date indicated on the tag (on both the Hawks and Mighty Ducks) right after where it says "Trademark of CCM Holdings"? I can't quite read it in the Hawks photo. arittel137
so.. is that a good thing or a bad thing? for the price i paid 99$? I'd say you got a good deal as you only paid about half of what they usually go for.
