That one's cool. Is it game worn?

I just made the lettering on this one:

Ouch man. Did you really have to pick Lindros for the 2000 jersey? I'd rather not remember the 2000 season and what happened with him.

Heh, just bustin' your chops man. Excellent job!

Yay! I got my Graves jersey back yesterday and I got the arm numbers and the A on the chest this morning:

It came out awesome. I love it.

It's from CoolHockey.com. Their kits are pretty good actually. The only problem is they use twill nameplates but it's okay. The ones I've done still look good.

You think it's possible to get just the name OR singles numbers from them or do I have to buy the whole lettering kit?

I don't know about coolhockey and how they sell their letters/numbers, but I did find this guy Minnesota Vintage Hockey, who I have been in contact with and will most likely be the guy I order my kits from here once I get some income flowing my way. He seems very knowledgeable about the obscure jerseys I was discussing, but I have yet to order anything. When I do, I'll be sure to let the board know of my experience.

Nice pickups everyone.

Thanks brother. I've gotten a lot better at it and I guess the more I sew, the better I'll be.

I'm not too sure about that actually. Send them an e-mail. I'm sure they can help you out.

I put my newly acquired NHL Cares patch on today:

It came out good. Now I just need the kit to customize it.

Does anyone else think that the size 48 in the old CCM style from back in 1999-2000 fits tighter than the style of 48 used by Reebok in 2006-2007?

I got a new Preds authentic jersey in the mail today from 99-00 and it feels as if it is smaller than what a 48 should be compared to my 48 authentic from 06-07. Are the CCM measurements different or something?

Edit: Got the pictures up now. The 2000 patch is not sewn yet.

I know exactly what you mean. It's been my experience that any jersey produced before 1999-2000(except Nike; those were just plain huge) were smaller than those produced during and after. I have more than several pre-99 CCM 52's that fit me like post-2000 CCM/Reebok 48's. It seems to me that Pro Player began a trend of larger-sized jerseys because those are larger on me but the CCM's from 1999-2000 aren't too bad.

Lol thank god. Thought I had f'ed up there for a while. I mean it fits fine, its just tighter around my shoulders and the sleeves expose all of my wrists. I will definitely take this into account next time I look at 1999-2000 CCM jerseys or those before now that I know this. Now the guy has a Bauer 56 from 98-99, and the measurements are like those of a 06-07 48.

No, it's definitely not you. I noticed it the first time I put on an early 90's CCM jersey. I couldn't believe how much smaller it was compared to Reebok and CCM/KOHO. I can't explain it though. For some reason, Nike and Pro Player were much larger than CCM and Starter during the 90's and the large trend was transitioned over to the CCM/KOHO brands.

Compared to my jersey from last year, it is only about 2-3 inches smaller in the dimensions.

But that won't matter anymore since I am going to start buying my jerseys larger regardless. They feel much better than way.

Got this yesterday and just put the World Cup patch on it this morning.

Now all I need is the 96 World Cup USA jersey and I'll have all the ones I've ever wanted.

I got a 1999-2000 Kings jersey today and I threw the NHL 2000 patch on it too:

Yes, I love the NHL 2000 jerseys. I'm up to 11!

I'm the same way with the NHL 75th Anniversary patch and the 1991-92 season. For me, that's the (nearly perfect) season with the classic styles of jerseys, plus the addition of the Original 6 and All-Star turn back the clock jerseys.

In addition, the wacky alternates or Islanders Fisherman, Modern Penguin and the trendy colors of Jade and Eggplant hadn't made an appearance yet. Expansion hadn't really started yet, except for the Sharks, the WHA teams hadn't moved yet and the Devils were still wearing green and red.

If only the Sharks hadn't started wearing Teal and the North Stars had waited one more year to change from their classic green jerseys.

Amen brother!! That jersey was way too good to scrap that year and would've looked AWESOME with both the NHL 75th AND the North Stars 25th anny patches(where would they have gone on the home jerseys with the N's on the shoulders?? Oh the possibilities!!)...BUT I do understand why they did it. Trying to class up the teams image; especially coming off the miracle run to the Finals the year before and with the anticipation of another successful season. Too bad too...having that jersey around for two more seasons would've made it easier for ME TO FIND AN AUTHENTIC OUT THERE! That's the only one of the great defunct jerseys that I DON'T have. Gar!

Well let's see what I've been up to...

Here are the jerseys I've acquired since the end of January.

2169804890100337552S200x200Q85.jpg 2795174540100337552S200x200Q85.jpg

CCM New York Rangers Brian Leetch jersey. Needs to have an "A" replaced. The original was too skinny.

2902660990100337552S200x200Q85.jpg 2006453110100337552S200x200Q85.jpg

New York Rangers & Buffalo Sabres Twin Towers Fund Game jerseys. The Rangers will be a #11 Messier "C" and the 9/11 Ribbon patch is being sewn on the left shoulder as we speak. Giving equal time to the Sabres, this will have the secondary logos added on, which I already own, when it is customized as a #41 Stu Barnes "C". This will serve two purposes, giving me both team captains and giving me all the jersey numbers from 1-41 in my collection again after selling my Blackhawks Thibault a few years back. I bought them both as blanks and had them customized with the special, one game only "New York" cresting.

2802213930100337552S200x200Q85.jpg 2285522810100337552S200x200Q85.jpg 2191226300100337552S200x200Q85.jpg

1989-90 Pittsburgh Penguins Mario Lemieux jersey. I already owned this one, but had the 1990 NHL All-Star Game patch added. This was the first time a host team wore the All-Star Game patch all season. The All-Star patches made now are not the correct shape, so I made a proper shield shape background and had the patch sewn to that before putting it on my jersey.

1990-91 Pittsburgh Penguins Mario Lemieux home jersey. Another one I already had, but with the addition of the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals patch.

2007-08 Pittsburgh Penguins Sydney Crosby Winter Classic jersey. I deliberately chose to make this out of an older style 550 instead of a Edge jersey. Seemingly not concerned with 100% accuracy, I would like to point out that the jersey came with a dark blue lace in the tie-neck and I changed it to a more accurate white one, and the captain's "C" on my jersey is the correct, beveled font like the numbers, unlike most found on ebay.

2000-01 Toronto Maple Leafs Mats Sundin Hockey Fights Cancer jersey. This was the only time Sundin wore the home white jersey with this patch, which I made myself by printing the design onto twill since the patches are never sold to the public. This is my 7th different patched Sundin jersey.

2732376030100337552S200x200Q85.jpg 2902575100100337552S200x200Q85.jpg

1991-92 Washington Capitals Peter Bondra jersey with the NHL 75th Anniversary patch. This is my 25th jersey with the NHL 75th Anniversary patch, my favorite patch from my favorite era of jerseys.

2678341710100337552S200x200Q85.jpg 2169090340100337552S200x200Q85.jpg

1987 NHL All-Star Team Wayne Gretzky jersey. The traditional All-Star game was replaced by a two game series vs. the Soviet Union called Rendez-vous '87. The right pair of sleeve numbers should be stripped off and replaced by the Rendez-vous '87 patch to make it more accurate.

I think that's enough for now. All photos are clickable links of you want to see them larger. I'll post my new international jersey arrivals later on.

Great pick-ups there except for the Rangers Leetch jersey (Sorry!!!). I like the 9-11 jersey. I need to get myself at least the Rangers one too

I don't understand. You don't like Leetch, the Rangers or the jersey itself?
