I agree, it's much worse making a jersey that the player never actually wore than it is making a jersey of a player in your size. I'm shrinking, I'll probably be able to fit comfortably in a 46 one of these days, but when I do get myself an authentic hockey jersey I'll never buy anything bigger than a 48 in pre-EDGE jerseys simply because anything bigger is already gigantic. I learned my lesson with my Yankees jerseys, I started buying 48's even if I can't button them yet. 52's are huge.

Totally agree, I have a Mo 52 and its like a nightie :(

I believe I'm the expert in not being able to wear any jersey comfortably. It's really, really, really difficult to find 46's that are bargains. The 48's for 6100s are still pretty darn baggy...

(to be honest, EDGE replica smalls are fairly long on the sleeves for me)

It's nothing against him personally, just that he continually posts fake Gretzky's as authentic for an insane markup. Whether its his current Oilers "authentics" made by CCM and his 90-91 Kings jersey with the wrong patch, or older ones like his Blues jerseys without the C. I just don't see how he's got a 100% positive feedback rating.

I emailed him to ask a question about one of his jerseys and he pretty much just blew me off. Wanted to see if he was on this board to have a civilized discussion.

What makes you think his Kings is fake because it has the incorrect patch. It's customized to be a 1991/1992 but they put a 1993 patch. Also why do you think the oilers are fake as well?

The double CCM Oulers where made in 1996 I think and it was like a memeobila thing. The Blues are real as well.

I guess fake is the wrong word.... Misrepresented is probably better. I could be misinterpreting this, but to me, authentic is an exact representation of what was worn on ice. If you go by that standard, then none of his jerseys are what they claim to be. I suppose it's just two different schools of thought on the matter.

In the interest of broadening my knowledge, what is fake about it?

The fact that it has a Reebok wordmark logo on the back means that it was manufactured recently for this season, so a legit product would be an Indo-Edge. I haven't seen a Rangers Indo-Edge yet, but I would imagine the neck area would have the green collar stripe and no tags. This jersey is using the old RBK/CCM tag and size tag that were used on the original Edge 1.0 back in 2007. Neck strings are probably too long, the fight strap is not what is used on Edges, and the customization (letters and numbers) just have a cheap look to them.

Misscustomized would be the correct word. The Kings jersey the white one the lettering is correct the only thing that is in correct is the patch which can be fixed easily. Now for the Oilers jerseys again they were sold just like that and it was a memrobilia thing and $275 for a jersey like that is a great price.

Did Kariya ever wore the C for the Ducks in that style (CCM with now patches)? For some reason I don't think he did.

No, he didn't. See the thread on this a while back:

So about a week ago I had this post up: http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=3497&view=findpost&p=8804 And here are the reasons why:

So here is the Mario Lemieux jersey that he has up for sale and I called it FAKE.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mario-Lemieux-66-Pittsburgh-Penguins-Authentic-CCM-Jersey-52-Autographed-Photo-/260980656385?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item3cc3a8c901#ht_5207wt_1162

Take a look at the 3rd picture (Here is a close up) in the discretion where you can see the tagging. Look at the patterns of stitch on the CENTER ICE tag, also why is the size tag place underneath the CENTER ICE TAG. That is FAKE looking CCM tag that I've seen on most Fake CCM CENTER ICE JERSEYS jerseys, just like this BURE I posted about a month ago.

http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=4541&view=findpost&p=83866

Here is what the tags should look like: http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e390/mjsawyerjr/?action=view&current=StrakaTag.jpg

As you can see the stitch patterns do not match on the CENTER ICE TAG. The size tag was never placed underneath the CENTER ICE tag and the CCM tag is incorrect and that is off of a fake jersey as this:

http://forums.icejerseys.com/index.php?showtopic=4541&view=findpost&p=83866

I rest my case

That Lemieux jersey is 100% legit. I don't know what you're looking at but it's a genuine CCM jersey. It's most likely a 1995-96 jersey before the switch-over to Starter. That CCM tag in the collar was used in the mid-to-late 90's and beyond. If anything is wrong with it, it looks like the Center Ice/Mise au Jeu tag was removed and then reapplied.

That seller from Hawaii seems to sell completely legit stuff, but some of his jerseys were just manufactured in a certain year and customized for a different year, hence the different tags. A while ago he sold a 1991-92 Penguins but it had a wash tag that didn't appear until the '93-94 season. (See link below) I thought that was strange since that model jersey was no longer used after 1992. I asked Casey Samuelson (Penguins Chronicles website) about it and he said that this model jersey was available in Penguins catalogs for some years after the Penguins stopped using it, so that probably explains why the jersey model didn't match the tags.

An interesting observation about this jersey is that the hem stripes are thinner than on the gamers.

The two most faked Center Ice jerseys were BURE the one that I posted up a month ago and Lemieux. Plus you can tell all the tagging was added to the jersey, look at the CCM tag it's stitched on to the jersey and not into the jersey and the same thing goes for the size tag. I also remember some posted a fake Nords jersey a month ago and it had the same exact tags. My cousin purchased a BURE home Canucks jersey and the jersey is fake and the back hem CCM with the NHL shield looks just like the original ones and the fight strap is the same as well. I'll post the tagging of that jersey tonight and you will see it is the same exact tagging.

The most faked Lemieux is the "Badger" skating pen style NOT the Diag Pen's. Infact, I would say its the most faked CCM jersey EVER!

That Diag is fine! It even has a ultrafil nameplate! The neck tags be damned. You can harvest neck tags from any other jersey from that era and bob's your uncle.

You sure your not just s*** talking auction on the forum in hopes people read your complaints and don't bid on the jersey?!?!?

"OMG! the neck tags are off! The jersey is completely useless and the terrorist win!!"

While the tags look like they may have been messed with, the ultrafil material, the collar pattern, the stitching, everything looks so exact to the originals that I don't see how anyone could fake one of these so well. There's always some telltale sign of a fake.

So what?! it may or may not have the right neck tags. big deal.

It don't mean the jersey is fake like you said before.

The jersey IS NOT FAKE!!!

I can care less about that jersey and I will never buy one with tag that look like that. There are 3 tags that go into that jersey, why are all 3 tampered with? Also I'm not trying to convince anyone here not to buy the jersey I'm just speaking my opinion. I'm pointing out all the wrongs. A lot of people here know my eBay user ID and I guarantee you I will not come close to that thing even if it ended for $50.

How good are the Pro Player replicas? When did they make them? For me, when it comes to airknit, the difference between replica and authentic is not that substantial. Especially between the 6100s and 550s.
