ic0dex Posted April 24, 2012 Report Share Posted April 24, 2012 Pretty excited about this one! 2011-12 Justin Williams Vintage set, used in the 3 "Legends Night" games this season honoring former Kings greats. I've wanted one of these for a long time now, and while I would have been very happy with a blank to get customized, I've gotta say that having a gamer of one of my favorite Kings ain't bad either! Maybe it's because I'm still quite new at collecting gamers, but for me it's extra sweet knowing for sure that I got to see this jersey in action, as it was being used on-ice. If you think about it, selanne probably never wore edge 1.0 AT ALL. He was 'retired' and didnt sign until late January and played just over 20 games that year. I couldn't find any gamers of his that year, but I bet that they're edge 2.0. With this said, even though it's technically a jersey foul, i disregard it based on major difficiencies in Reebok. He offered to cover up the Reebok logo on one of my EDGE 1.0 Kings jerseys to make it look like a 2.0. I'll see if I can pick some up next time I go back there but it will probeblly be when I go to pick my jerseys up within a month. TMLFAN Posted April 25, 2012 Report Share Posted April 25, 2012 Made a trade for this. I hade a 1.0 Kessel before but decided to sell it since Kessel never wore a 1.0 while with the Leafs. Anyways, now that I replaced the one that I sold I have finally finished getting one of each style jerseys the Leafs have worn from 1990 on. I don't have this years jerseys with the wordmark since Reebok won't sell 2.0's but I'll eventually pick up gamers when they are a little more affordable. I had a fairly large haul show up last night - '85-86 Housley - The Housley was originally a Van de Velde special that I found for $55 on ebay. Stripped, cleaned, re-customized...sweet. '85-86 Patrick - This was originally a Beezer, but the custom job was wrong, and the NEW YORK logo was poorly spaced. I also decided to mimic his '86 OPC when Steve Patrick played 26 games for the Rangers, and James had the J. added to the rear name for a short period. All it would take is for the fans to stop showing up for a season or two and stuff would change really fast. It's very hard to see what teams that are run and managed properly, like Ottawa and Florida, can do in such a short period of time while the Leafs have been the laughing stock of the league for the past ten years. I tell everyone that being a Leafs fan is almost the same as being in an abusive relationship. You put up with the abuse and punishment for so long and know deep down you should move onto something better but you keep buying into the appologies and promises of change only to be punched in the face over and over again. Enough of my rant, those are some awsome pick-ups Slim. Your like the Indiana Jones of jersey collecting.
