ic0dex
Paypal is ebay. Just contact customer support or respond to whatever email younreceive from both of them and attach all of the email correspondence. You can provide a link to this forum as well. This buyer is a complete moron. You cannot return something that you ruined.PayPal is not eBay, I've been selling on eBay for over 8 years PayPal handles their claims differently then eBay. I would call PayPal and talk to someone and make sure they note that the buyer has altered the jersey. Also provide them with all emails and eBay messages. Just so you know every eBay message has a Email Reference ID that you can provide to PayAl and they can pull every message up.

Paypal is owned by ebay, so you are dealing with insufferable a******* either way. Document everything like a lawyer and CYA, leave nothing to chance. Brian
We have concluded our investigation and have decided in your favor. Any funds that may have been temporarily held have been returned to your account. The system works. Yea! Congratulations, and thanks for the update. From the very beginning it appeared that you had the facts on your side and the documentation to back it up. Great!

redbeard3569
Wait! What? I can't buy something, alter it, mess it up, decrease it's value, and then get my money back when I realize what I've done? This worlds gone to hell I tell ya. Where's the justice? hatryk
Just so you guys know. eBay item 320954349385 He Resold my jersey
dsl135
I don't see anything wrong with him reselling it. Granted, you can see in the pictures he was lying about the jersey being ruined by removing the patch. It looks perfectly fine. I mean, yes, technically some of the things he's saying in the listing are misleading like "Jersey was purchased in 1991." but that shouldn't really affect a buyer's opinion of the jersey. So he was able to get his money back by reselling it, and someone got a good authentic jersey for a still good price. Hopefully he still lost money overall. Just be glad the whole thing is behind you now.
redbeard3569
You should buy it back from him, try and remove the patch, and file a claim against him. Just for fun.

OR68
Its funny that "it was purchased in 1991" yet anyone can go into his history and pull up his (+ hatryk's) original transaction that happened weeks ago.

hatryk
new ebay problem....won an auction for a Modano really cheap, seller wont sell it to me because "I am not selling it for that cheap" what now out of principle I want the jersey now, can i make them sell it to me? dsl135
I believe you have to wait a certain amount of time (4 days, maybe), and then you can open a case against him. Once the case is open, you are able to communicate back and forth, but at some point (probably pretty early) you will want to escalate it and provide the message where he says he won't sell it for that cheap. He can do all he wants, but eBay will likely take action against him. That is definitely not right.
cowboys
No I had the same thing happen I put a claim in and he just refunded my money but I was able to leave negative feedback witch he did not like

dsl135
Here's his quote I am not selling this jersey that cheap contact eBay and they will take the money from my account Definitely open a case against him and escalate it. He will still just end up backing out, but don't make it easy on him. And like someone said, don't agree to cancel the transaction. Screw him over with the fees (even if they are probably minimal at this point). Please also let us know who he is. I want to block him so I never buy from him. QueenAnnesRevenge
At the end of the day if the seller did not put a reserve on it then he has essentially entered himself in to a situation where what it sells for, it sells for, end off. He's totally in the wrong and if he didn't want to sell it for so little then put a reserve on it or a higher buy it now.
MeccaDon123
If he doesn't give the jersey up slam him with negative feedback and then list his name in the thread here "ebay sellers to avoid". I can't stand idiots like this.
