I remember Messier's first game as a Ranger was in that jersey against Boston and both teams wore their old versions. That was a great sight. They used to follow the Bruins around the NHL, and they picked it up in Montreal when they realized that with the exchange rate, it was half the price that it was in Boston. It's really difficult for me to answer how many I have, because I don't quite know. Not only do I have a full closet, but I have 4 large equipment bags full of jerseys. I started about 1992 and haven't stopped. I've been really lucky because when Starter and Pro Player went under, I was able to purchase many jerseys at the Value City chain for cheap. I would say that my collection is 60-40 replica to authentic. I will buy authentic if I can, but if I'm just filling a hole, replicas are fine. Besides NHL, I have a lot of old IHL jerseys, and some international. For some reason I have been collecting Swiss jerserys. I have 3 authentics, a red mid-90's Nike, sz 56, with screened logos; a red Salt Lake, size 52; and a white Salt Lake size 58. Maybe if I have more time this summer I'll do a complete inventory. I'm a hockey fan first and foremost. Oh Lynch was the man! I bought his replica red jersey in 03 and no sooner than it visited the washer than it was peeling away and toast. I hated to see that guy leave the Bucs. I was impressed with the loyalty of the Buccaneer fans when I saw them play the Cardinals on Jan. 2nd, 2005. They had a great group that showed up. Both teams sucked that season, but it was great being able to hang with the opposing teams fans and enjoy a game without hostility that can show up. I'm from Indianapolis and a big Colts fan and am thrilled that Dungy was able to win the Super Bowl with my favorite team. I'm just sorry he never won it in Tampa. I went to school with a guy named Todd Yoder (and worked for his dad) who played on their Super Bowl team. So they are a team that is kinda close to home for me.
