That seems rather hard to believe, or maybe it's just the way they worded the response. If they are not "producing" the material, then what is that stuff the Rangers' jersey backs are made of? They probably meant Reebok wasn't selling it separately in rolls, but even if that is true, the white and blue the Rangers use are pretty common colors- almost every team uses white. AW stopped doing Edge nameplates quite a while ago, so if Reebok isn't "producing" the material, shouldn't other teams (not to mention other customizers like EPS) have run into this problem by now?

All of the teams we work with purchase their own nameplates and have them shipped at the start of the season with their jerseys.

I can't imagine CCM/Reebok running out, but, it wouldn't shock me seeing the things we see from them.

As far as Rangers Blue, they are the only team using that blue.

A couple new pickups for my Zuccarello collection thanks to Mike!

This is a rare example of a jersey that I feel looks much nice in pictures than in real life. I actually really hate this jersey in person. It fits my collection though and he had a hell of a game against the Devils!

It's funny you say that, because Arena Wear keeps telling me that they're constantly waiting for nameplate material from Reebok, which is what forced them to use their own material for the playoff jerseys last year. I tried to get a few jerseys done all offseason and they didn't have material, got in enough at the beginning of the season to do the first set, and now they're still waiting on more material to do the second set for the season, and if they don't get it they'll have to go back to using their own stuff that they used for the playoffs last year. I wonder why it's so difficult for them to keep stock.

It's probably an open book for you guys as everybody is really well informed in here, but I'm pretty sure that Reebok will move away from the NHL Jersey business and Bauer or Under Armour will take over. One of my mates works for the adidas Group and he told me that they are anything else than happy with Reeboks work in hockey (as probably the most of us). Topics like Indo Edge, bad supply chain, quality issues makes it hard so miss them :)

Junkyard, why don't teams (or their customizers) just buy rolls of the Edge material and cut their own nameplates? I don't see how that wouldn't be cheaper or at least more convenient than waiting around for finished nameplates. Surely Reebok must have the material available; they need it to make the jerseys. Then a team like the Rangers wouldn't have to worry about the nameplates being the wrong curvature, as they stated earlier. They could cut the plates any way they wanted to. I don't get it.

Trust me, NOTHING surprises me with CCM/Reebok. For example, when they sublimate nameplates, they sublimate a roll in one shot and then cut the plates on the back end. HOWEVER, the problem is that the direction in which they are cutting is the OPPOSITE of the direction in which the jerseys are cut and then sublimated. What you end up getting is two different colors! Ever see two different blacks? Currently living this with a team. The only ONE of their jerseys that looks correct with the nameplate is their white. The others look horrid!

Because they'd rather pay $5.50/nameplate instead of $45/yard for a 100 yard roll of fabric. Say they do 6 sets of jerseys at $5.50 each x 6 sets (30 jerseys a set) = $990. $45 x 100 = $4500. For teams with $1.5m budgets, you'd think "f**king buy the roll", but, there's much more involved...

Also, not sure if CCM/Reebok is still offering the roll for sale. Been a few years since I checked.

$45/bolt yard, I assume, or some other random measurement?

I didn't know a roll was that wide. Assuming a height of 4" per plate, and an average width of 12" per plate, you could get 45 plates per yard- that's just a buck a plate! :D

60" wide rolls are nothing. I once bought 15k yards of 126" wide goods!

The plates we received for teams this year all measure 4 3/8" tall x 22 1/2" wide.

On an airknit roll, the roll is 58/60, which means 58" is usable. The 1" fringe on each side is not.

Not sure what size the back panel "EDGE" fabric would be. I know the retail front panel comes in as 60/64.

I think that looks great! But then again I like ugly jerseys.

A smooth, backhanded compliment to the Rangers!

While the chrome letters are interesting, the rest of the design is uninspired. It's not just that it's ugly, it's also that it seems like not a lot of thought went into making it look good. The Pens (arguably), Blackhawks, Kings and Islanders had something nice while the Ducks had something unique. I think the Rangers just came out with a meh jersey.

I actually agree with you there. It was the worst of the Stadium/outdoor jerseys by far. But for some reason I am drawn to it when playing NHL...

The casino is a client of mine! We make them some pretty flashy jerseys!

On the jersey related note though, is that name plate twill?

I'm still a complete noob when it comes to terms like twill, the jersey itself is ultrafill material.

Jags looks great there Fitz!

Thanks!

I was happy when I got it in a Premier. I am ECSTATIC to have it in a 2.0.

Hopefully his brain isn't mush after that hit he absorbed last night.

Received yesterday a blank diagonal Pens Starter ultrafil jersey. What surprised me is the material. It's really stretchy and soft. Reminds a lot of the Edge 1.0 material (xtrafil?), which I kind of like. Unfortunately it feels a bit cheap compared to a CCM ultrafil and even though it's NWT, it has some small snags/pulls.
