Soccer shirts

Anyone know a thing about soccer shirts? (I kinda stopped buying hockey jerseys a long while ago. Too expensive for a student like myself lol.) I have a couple shirts saved on my eBay watch list and not sure if legit or not.

The first 2 and the Man United one I'm assume are fakes. (Just because I see the seller selling fake Habs jerseys too.)

If anyone can give a helping hand, that be great. Thanks.

Soccer shirts are a bit harder to tell than hockey jerseys

I would love to see your collection.....

I collect mainly

1. AC Milan shirts from either seasons where they won Serie A or any major trophy (Like Champions League or FIFA club world cup)

2. Italy shirts from major competitions

3. shirts from my parents hometown team (Cosenza) which at the moment plays in the Italian 4th division (last year they were in the 5th division which did not qualify them to be considered a professional team)

I try to acquire team issue shirts to avoid this headache with retail shirts....I gained a bit of knowledge about soccer jerseys, but to me it is not as cut and dry as hockey jerseys tend to be.....

I don't really have a collection lol. I just collect any non-hockey jerseys as I can afford to do so since I'm a student lol. Myself though, I'm a Manchester United fan. Although I've only been really following the sport recently, I just really liked Man U.

I got 3 more I need an opinion on if you don't mind

I believe the Ozil is fake. Arsenal jerseys always have the team motto printed above the size tag:

The replica kits from what I've seen on their site doesn't have the team motto either. Maybe the motto is only on the team issue shirts?

I would consider myself somewhat of an expert. Out of 119 footie jerseys in my collection, 57 are Man Utd. Been a United supporter for a long time.

I think everything that you've listed are fakes. For one, the current style jerseys all lettered up with all patches would not sell for $50. Second, the lettering if you look up closely are really poorly done. Also, the fuzzy pictures are always a dead giveaway, no matter what type of jerseys you're selling. I would recommend staying away from eBay for soccer jersey, since 90% are fakes. Just wait for sales on sites like Kitbag and you can get a great deal there. Just don't get the "replica" kits and patches offered by Kitbag, I would go with ordering the kits and patches from Wiggy Sports who sells the authentic player sizes.

Well crap. lol. I'll keep a look out for those sites.

Yeah like I said it is hard to find decent stuff on the bay.....

One thing I find common is that people list team issue shirts as match worn

For example, someone may have a team issue blank, letter it with a star player and sell it as match worn with absolutely no signs of ever being worn.

Keep plugging and you will find some decent stuff......I have found quite a few nice ones.....but you have to search internationally and be patient.

Yeah. Will do. But I might be in a little bit of luck. Soccerpro.com has Manchester United jerseys on sale. A little bit more than the fake, but at least I know I'd be getting a genuine product.

Good point. There's no such thing as a Meigray tag on soccer jerseys, so like you said, you can easily obtain an authentic team issued shirt and just add on the player size kits and no one would know one way or another it is a true game worn or not. I would never purchase anything supposed game worn on eBay.

If you're looking for older Man Utd jerseys though, eBay is a good source. There are other sites that sell old stock as well, but they tend to be relatively expensive. Kitbag in my opinion is the best out there. Check out the clearance section for great deals, and they have free shipping (if it's over 50 ukp) worldwide right now I think.

Will do. I may also check the Whitecaps Official Team store in Burnaby. Last time I checked, they had kits of other teams on clearance too.

Check out http://www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk/. They have 15% off sales sometimes and actually sell team issued and game worn jerseys. Some of their stuff is more expensive but they are very legitimate and have amazing customer service. If you like the weird looking jerseys of teams that aren't very popular you can get steals on there, but unfortunately Man U jerseys are kinda pricey. Shipping isn't bad since it is from the UK and you wont get hit with import fees/duties.

Well the players go through more shirts than Steiner so you are never going to find much wear on jerseys when they only get worn for a half.

Subsidesports is probably the best of all the retailers I've dealt with.

Talking about soccer shirts, I have a game worn Newcastle United Andy Carroll shirt for sale, bought it from a German collector a few years ago. Let me know if interested.

Andy Carroll? When did Newcastle United become a rugby team too?

I know its a little bit of an older thread but can somebody with more expertise than myself give their input on this shirt?

I collect soccer jerseys and unlike hockey have a ton of experience. Kitbag usually has sales and is the beys place you can buy for replicas. Just remember that their lettering and badges are replica sized and not authentic. Another site that is solid and does authentic sized letters and badges is www.subsidesports.co.uk

If you don't mind paying a little more find a seller named threelion on eBay. I know he's from Hong Kong, but I have done business with him since 2007 and I have NEVER had a bad experience with him. He can source team issued authentic shirts and all of lettering and badges are authentic sized. He can also get the rare UEFA respect badges and training gear and jackets. I'm sure I spent thousands of dollars on jerseys from him. He doesn't sell fakes and responds fast to emails. He always carries good stock of the big European clubs and national teams and some MLS.

Fake. Check this one out. It's the away kit but the seller carries the home kit. I've bought lots of stuff from him before. A little pricey but he's legit

You assumed correctly. Prices for replica short sleeve jerseys are about $75-$85 with the Long sleeve jerseys going for slightly more. To get badges and printing will add another $20-$30 depending on the badge and name you want. If the price is low, then it's likely a fake.

Here's a replica one blank that's real:

If anyone wants a little guide to buying kits, let me know. There are A LOT of fake sellers out there and it's getting harder and harder to figure out which ones are fake and real.

This is a VERY basic guide, and when I get some time this weekend, I can better write a good guide for people with better examples.

OK so if you're buying jerseys, for a blank short sleeved jersey - the price should be about $75-$100 depending on the site and seller on e-bay. Typically additional badges and lettering for authentic sized letters cost about $20-$40 depending on name, number and such.

Fake jerseys often sell for $35-$50 with the name and badges included. The prices should already alert you that this is a fake. Every online store that sells kits charges almost double that. The other thing you need to pay attention to is to see what jerseys are being sold by the club. For example, PSG don't sell long-sleeved jerseys on their website. If you see one on e-bay for really cheap, then you know it's fake since the jersey isn't even for public sale.

Lastly, look at the sizes and dimensions of the jerseys. Typically, fake jersey sellers only sell medium or xl. Some sell other sizes, but again, if the price is too good to be true, it likely is. If you have the time, you should compare what a legit jersey to what a fake one looks like. Some fake sellers are good, but others just plain get everything wrong from crooked sponsor logos, and the colors being a little off.

This is really basic, so if you have a question about anything more specific or have links, let me know

Best sites to buy from:

http://www.kitbag,com Kitbag is a UK based seller who also operate the Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton, and Chelsea (UK only for Chelsea), Barcelonal, and Real Madrid online sales sites. Kitbag often has sales with free international shipping so you should get their email alerts. They sell replica kits and carry almost all the BPL teams and training stuff as well as the big European clubs. The only issues with kitbag is that their badges and lettering for the Premier League teams are replica sized so they will be smaller than what you see on an authentic. The turnaround time is quick (3 days) and like I said, a solid site to buy from.

http://www.uksoccershop.com While the shirts the site carries are not fakes, there have been rampant reports that his letters and badges are. Also, the site isn't updated all that often and the customization jobs were poor, Communication is also lacking so avoid this site like the plague. With kitbag and subside, you don't need this one.
