I just looked over the list and it's laughable some of the prices Meigray puts on stuff. Three 13-14 Ovechkin's in the grab bag? Guess they're not worth the $7500 a pop they charge.

I've defended Meigray's prices in the past. They can price the jerseys at that high number for the "gotta have it" crowd. There are collectors that will pay any amount for a certain jersey. And if the jersey doesn't sell for that price then Meigray is perfectly fine sitting on the jersey and throwing it in a grab bag or when the sales come they will sell it then. Meigray is getting a $29,250 cash influx with this grab bag.

The prices can be a total bummer, for sure, but I've had nothing but great experiences dealing with MeiGray the few times I have so far. I just wish I'd known about their willingness to negotiate on (some) jersey prices before buying my first gamer from them. And I also wish I'd known that I was going to get screwed with duty fees.

I actually don't mind the idea of pre-season jerseys. It can be an opportunity to acquire a piece that may be more expensive or out of reach otherwise. I remember someone trying to unload a leafs Marchment for what appeared to be years for under $180. Not a bad price for 'Mush.' Also, just picked up a Kapanen Flyers for $250. Had a Flyers 07-08 that I purchased and sold for around $400-500 a handful of years ago. But agree that training camp kind of blows.

Didn't ovechkin wear something like 24 gamers in 2011-12 alone between regular sets and one game wonders? There are tons of ovechkin jerseys from almost every year in the past few years up on their site so it seems like the price keeps most away thus a large supply that they can part with 3 of them without batting and eye. The one thing I will say is that this year the other top prizes are much better than last year's expo grab bag prizes.

Overall I've had nothing but good experiences with them. I also live and work 15 min away and they allow me to pick up the jerseys from their office so avoid the shipping costs.

Not sure the Ovi's are worth $7500, but they are worth a hell of a lot more than the $195 grab bag fee.

Someone remind me not to be dumb the next time there is a grab bag - yes I know it is a gamble and I shouldn't expect anything. Well I must have gotten the most boring grab bag in the history of the world. , Peter Olvecky # 38 NHL Nashville Predators 2009-10 White Set 1 - Preseason Only. Oh well, look for it in the for sale/trade section!!

Yeah i was dumb and gambled on one too. Ended up getting an oilers training camp jersey. Gonna end up sending out and getting it stripped and re-customized. 2nd time I've bought and grab bag and probably the last

This is why I really don't do the grab bags, especially the expo ones. The prizes are nice but the "loser" bags are just not worth it for me. $200 in funds towards to warehouse sale for something I really want is the way I see it by not taking part.

They had a grab bag about 2-3 years ago during the holiday season that was actually pretty good. It was $350 buy-in but if you got something you didn't like, you could trade it in for $350 in credit. Basically it was pretty much a no-lose bag, albeit with a high buy-in. Part of me wishes I took part in that. Even the "loser" bags were pretty good. Below is the list

I've participated in two (that one was the first), and it was fantastic. That's how I got my first gamer. I bought two Grab Bags, didn't like either of them, traded them back in, and at the Summer Sale bought two Simon Gagne Flyers jerseys (and my buddy split the cost with me, we each got one).

I get that they use the Grab Bags to clear out a lot of old crappy stock that has just been sitting around, but if they did another one where you got to trade them in, I'd be all over it.

So, in all, I've bought 3 Grab Bags, and got a Grossman Stars, Quincey Avalanche, and a Nokelainen Islanders. None of them were worth keeping. Funny enough, I traded the Grossman and Quincey back in... they're still available on the site to this day. The Nokelainen sold on eBay and I got most of my money back on that one.

EDIT: Ok, it's slow at work and I'm bored as hell, so I went through that list of jerseys that they allowed the trade-in on. Of the 100 Grab Bags, 35 of those jerseys are back on the site and remain unsold to this day. That could be why they haven't done this again, lol. And that doesn't even count if any others were traded back in and have since been bought by someone during a sale.

On one of the Facebook groups someone has pulled an Ovechkin jersey!!

Saw that and he was the only one who seems to be happy with what he got so far lol.

I've been watching the Facebook groups today. It makes me grateful that I skipped this year... but that one Dallas jersey is sweet.

Very true. I think their re-design is the best jersey re-design that has come out in the past decade IMO. Just gorgeous with that green.

Make sure you don't "show up with a semi" before you try it on.

Wooten (John), another CBJ collector (Dave) and myself (Charles) will have a game worn CBJ display table set up this weekend.

Most likely the Summer Sale will have the same terms as last year's, just with the eligible years moved up one, naturally.

I will bring about 10-12 jerseys to the show, with 1 or 2 I might consider trading if the right jersey comes along.
